About this deal

I was exhausted when I finished This Is Not A Test. I felt mentally, emotionally, physically (because I stayed up so late to read it) wrung out – and the haunting final scene of the book lingered with me days afterwards. Still, claims to the contrary, Keri Smith's text is a book, albeit not a very good one. It's really a simplistic collection of activities.

Not a Book To Be Lightly Thrown Aside. Should Quote Origin: Not a Book To Be Lightly Thrown Aside. Should

Okay so I'll wrap this up, because guess what?? I'm leaving because it's snowing like crazy!! I could say a million more things, but I think the truth is in the words-the writing speaks for itself. It's raw. It's gritty. Not everyone makes it. And it's a harsh, cruel reality. I wish I could go on and on and on and on....but there is only so much I can say before I start to give things away. If you aren't sure about dystopians, if you don't like zombies but are willing to give them another shot, if you're on the fence at all, about anything to do with this story, read it. It's amazing. And I am so damn glad I decided to read it. That just goes to show that there is still a chance to make these novels amazing. They can still be harsh and have a little romance and still be amazingly blunt and well-written. I cannot wait to read the novella....I hope it is equally amazing as this book, but if it's only a fraction as good, I'll still die happy. The title alone inspires a smile, but the book itself is hilarious, and wise…[Carvan’s] story is really about the joy that comes with rediscovering and indulging youthful passions and pleasures.”– AARP From a book review: “It is not a book to be lightly thrown aside. It should be thrown with great force.” Unfortunately, no one seems to know when this line was written or spoken. I have become skeptical of the attribution to Parker. Also, I have not been able to determine the name of the book that was being slammed. Would you please explore this? it's a strange dynamic, but each character brings something different to the group. and as they spend longer together - as much as they begin to look out for one another and become a family of sorts, there is this immense will to live and find their loved ones. and sometimes the want for family and love overtakes all rational thinking and results in dangerous mistakes and decisions. It took me only one chapter to be hooked. By the end of chapter one, I needed to read chapter two. By the end of chapter two, I needed to read chapter three. By the end of … and so on. In conclusion, QI believes that Bill Miller coined this quip. He placed it into his 1929 book “To You I Tell It” with a spurious attribution to Frank Dolan. All of the comical and absurd recommendations in the book were crafted by Miller. The quip was reassigned to Dorothy Parker by 1962, but there is no substantive evidence that she ever employed it.

Listen carefully. You must read this book. If it’s the last thing you do, I implore you to read it. It will change your outlook on life and completely astound you. Call them a catalyst, a threat, an inciting event – the zombies are an ominous presence that set off a chain reaction of events and lurk unnervingly around the corners of the book. But this is not even so much a book about survival, although that’s certainly one of the themes threading through the story. THIS BOOK. The title just kept passing through my head - THIS IS NOT A TEST. Too [blank]ing right it's not! She really pulled out all the stops I think. Her best. The last 20% was my least favourite part. When everything started to fall apart, I inexplicably felt tired of the drama. This book changed my life. I was quite depressed, and bought 'This Is Not A Book' on a whim - but I started carrying it with me everywhere I went, and bought pretty much everything Keri Smith has ever release straight after falling in love with it.This Is Not a Book is a fun idea full of questions, tasks and challenges that will ensure every copy of This Is Not a Book is unique by the time you've finished it. This book felt to me like a combination of Tomorrow, When the War Began and Lord of the Flies, as narrated by someone with severe PTSD. It's raw and harrowing, and terrible things happen. I'm not sure I "enjoyed" it. But I sure couldn't put it down, and zipped through it. I found it a different perspective and interesting twist on the typical zombie apocalypse story. Minuses are that it doesn't exactly have a plot, and it winds up very open-ended and unresolved, both zombie-wise and Sloane's internal story-wise. It's also supposed to be an adventure and a decision maker and a decoration and a sculpture and a lot of things that you could actually have fun doing one-a-day to keep yourself in a creative mood.
