The how-to images are great help, the patterns in the correct size (whoot whoot!) so no need to find a copy-machine to enlarge anything, and the images are simply adorable. I think they’re my favorite part. Oh and the fact that mom sewed soo many bunnies (she kept one and gave the rest away to her friends) from this book and a whole wardrobe for her Luna Lapin. I will post more pictures of our process later. Another little slice of fantasy, fun and fabrics from the lunaverse of handmade heirloom felt friends. Plenty of beautiful images, tales to tell and outfits to make in miniature for the long winter evenings ahead as we all huddle under our wearable fleece blankets, clutching hotwater bottles. Luna was designed to be passed down by generations as a special heirloom toy, and I think one well-done bunny would warm any kidz heart. But it’s okay to keep her for yourself too, right? That’s what I am doing. Or to gift her to someone who is a kid at heart in one way or the other…

Last year my mom (who loves sewing and quilting) bought the book Making Luna Lapin by Sarah Peel, and we got sewing as soon as it arrived. We couldn’t wait because everything in it is so cuuuute. It’s about this super sweet little girl rabbit called Luna Lapin ( lapin is French for rabbit) and her little fashions. Wonderful kits- top quality materials and everything you need to start you off for your journey into the enchanting world of Luna, a kind rabbity hare. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. There is wonderful Facebook group where people post lots of pictures and helpful tips – overall fabulous product

Really pleased with my first Luna kit. I’ve now made two plus Daisy the sheep and won’t be stopping there! As well as the animals and their delightful outfits there are the much-loved whimsical stories that really bring their characters to life. Making Luna Lapin: Sew and dress Luna, a quiet and kind rabbit with impeccable taste: 1. All the clothes are made using the finest fabrics including wool felt, lace and Liberty print cotton. Choose from a perfectly tailored wool coat, matching tweed skirt and bag, or pretty lace set.

I bought the Flora lapin kit at the knitting and stitching show. Fabulous instructions, easy to understand and follow. Absolutely loved making this gorgeous rabbit and have bought more fabric to make others! Anyway, the book starts out like a story book with a little story about Luna Lapin and her life, like an introduction. Then the rest of the book is about the different patterns. You get the pattern and detailed sewing instructions for making your own bunny from felt (although you could use any fabric) and her clothes, as well as a bag, shoes and hat. To make Luna we recommend that you are at least 13/14 years old. You can sew Luna by hand but her dress might be easier sewn on a sewing machine. My Luna is a bunny BTW, because I think she looks more like a bunny than a rabbit, so I’ll just call her that.

Fabulous book with wonderful animals and their clothes. Illustrations and stories are delightful. The instructions are easy to follow and suitable for novice and experienced stitcher alike. Strongly recommend this book Handmade Animal Dolls by by Melissa Lowry – this looks to be a similar type of sewing book, but I haven’t looked at this one yet As with all our kits, the instructions are thorough and include diagrams and photographs to demonstrate the sewing steps. We can’t wait to introduce you properly to Ottoline, Hamish, Ziggy and our new friend. Luna has been stitching harder than ever, from her skating dress to a book-exclusive kilt for our favourite thespian Taurus.What is not to like about this, the fourth Luna Lapin book. I have all the books and have made all the creatures. I have loved learning all the different dressmaking techniques from the books. I adore the variety of creatures and the gorgeous clothing. In fact, there is absolutely nothing negative about any of it. It has been a wonderful journey with Sarah Kenair Peel and her wonderful crew.
