About this deal

In a text-book Hollywood P.R. stunt, their publicists concoct a plan to hook the two up in a “fake relationship” guaranteed to light up the Hollywood gossip ghouls! So…are they actually good enough actors to tolerate each other long enough to pull this thing off? Their careers may depend on it. Grey Brooks has been acting since she was eight, with a long stint on a teen show. Her last relationship ended in disaster so she’s fine to set up a fake relationship with Ethan Atkins. She won’t let him know that she had a childhood crush on him. I'm giving this book all of the stars. I can't believe that this is Ava Wilder's debut novel, it's really something' We got to see the (somewhat) good side of Hollywood. Grey has been acting since she was a child, so we also got to hear about the not-so-good side that comes with fame.

I've said it before, and I will say it again - It's all about the journey! What a journey it is! It's not always an easy one as the characters have their own issues (one more than the other) to work on. Besides the deliciously well executed fake-dating, How to Fake it in Hollywood delivers a raw, character-driven and heart-touching read. I absolutely loved it' ELENA ARMAS Featuring ~ dual timeline, celebrity's, slow burn, friends to lovers to enemies to lovers, second chance, minimal steamage But please don't go into this book and expect a rom-com, because it is not, for sure. It's horny, romantic, and sad. It has a happily ever after, don't you worry about that, but Wilder makes the characters go through pain and ups and downs before you get to it. Ethan is messy AF, he's a train ready to crash and you see it all in slow motion. Grey is the perfect person for him. But even though he wants to be better for her, he knows he has to work on him first, and I love seeing that in the book.

I expected this book to be heavy because the blurb hints the alcoholism, grief and depression, but it wasn’t well done. I strongly believe they were better when they weren’t together. I absolutely loved Ava Wilder’s debut novel, How to Fake it in Hollywood. It was just over-the-top and dramatic enough to make it a delicious celebrity romance, but not so crazy that it made me believe I was reading a book about aliens, if you know what I mean.

The lead female of the story, Grey Brooks was stranded in her career. She made several bad decisions that cost her career hit gallop. Was it this bad decision that she made that caused her career to pause, or it just happened to her? Ethan Atkins had a similar problem as Grey Brooks and needed to know How To Fake It In Hollywood. He was at the apex of his career when he lost his best friend and co-star, Sam. Sam died in a car crash. Devastated is an understatement to explain how Ethan Atkins felt, and it affected him his entire life as well as in his career. Super fun, spicy and has a core of overwhelming love. The banter is amazing, characters are brilliant and the ending is EVERYTHING!! (I cried)'

Ethan is still reeling from the death of his best friend five years ago. He’s become ultra-private and drinks too much. He agrees to the fake relationship for very different reasons. It’s easy for him to keep Grey at a distance. Until it isn’t.

Addiction, child star molestation, dark side of fame were triggering subjects which were honestly approached but even the execution of fake relationship parts were a little messy! A raw, character-driven, and heart-touching read . . . I absolutely loved it.”—Elena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception Grey Brooks has been a working actress since she was eight-years-old. However, almost a year after a successful run as the lead character of a teen soap called Poison Paradise, Grey has been frustratingly unemployed.

Check-In

A career is food for an artist, an engineer, or whatever profession one would take a career in. Grey Brooks had a good run in a movie that she starred in a while ago before the start of the book. She got pretty famous as a result of the movie series to the extent that years later, she was faced with a fan calling out her name while she was at a lounge, having coffee.
