About this deal

Perhaps in an attempt to make amends for the best forgotten Christmas Album reboot from 2016, the Now That’s What I Call Music team have put together a new festive compilation for 2021 called simply Now That’s What I Call Christmas. The white vinyl is appealing, although in truth who wants to faff around with six sides of vinyl on Christmas Day when you want to stay put on the sofa with that tin of Quality Street while enjoying some festive classics. John Lennon, The Plastic Ono Band, Yoko Ono & The Harlem Community Choir – Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

John Lennon & Yoko Ono - "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" (feat The Plastic Ono Band & The Harlem Community Choir) (3:32) Perry Como And The Fontane Sisters with Mitchell Ayres & His Orchestra – It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas Perry Como & The Fontane Sisters - "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" (feat Mitchell Ayres & His Orchestra) (2:38) Perry Como/The Fontane Sisters/Mitchell Ayres & His Orchestra - It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas This is a bit more like it, as the compilers offer 68 Christmas songs on the three-CD edition and a still creditable 47 on the triple LP edition, pressed on – you guessed it – white vinyl.

The LP was called The Christmas Album, the cassette was named The Christmas Tape and the CD was known as The Christmas Compact Disc. The CD of this compilation was released a year after the original album in 1986 - it is also very collectable. Personally, I’d like to have seen Kate Bush‘s ‘December Will Be Magic Again’, if only in the hope that they accidentally put the rare ‘bongo’ version on here.

Now – The Christmas Album is a compilation album released in 1985. The album is part of the Now! series in the United Kingdom, and collects popular Christmas songs of the last few decades. It reached number 1 on the UK Albums Chart for two weeks, in between two runs of Now That's What I Call Music 6. The album has since been superseded by subsequent two-disc and later three-disc releases in the 2000s.
