A stronger BITE Magnet is one of the upgrades that Bushnell touts with the Phantom 2. Other improvements are a larger display, more mapped hazards, and greenview with multiple pin locations. Our software partner, iGolf manages the golf course database. You can submit your course update request directly from the Bushnell Golf App. Personally I probably wouldn’t clip this on my belt as I still feel the device can easily detach from the clip if you catch it against something. However, it worked great when clipping to the side of my golf bag and really sped up my play when I didn’t have to delve into my bag to find out a yardage. The new bite technology features an extra strong magnet and clip, meaning the Phantom can be clipped on to your belt, golf bag or trolley for easy viewing.

When you buy the Phantom, you get access to Bushnell’s golf app. It’s one of my favorites. I really like the arcs at 100, 150, 200, and 250 yards, and you can tap the map to get the exact distance to any given point on the hole. Perhaps the best feature is the flyover view of the hole. This is particularly valuable when you’re playing a hole for the first time. Finally, the app allows for score keeping and shows you all the data you could otherwise find by scrolling through menus on your watch. To disconnect the TWS connection, press both Plus and Minus buttons on one of the speakers simultaneously until the LED Indicator ring rapidly blinks orange to indicate the TWS connection has been disconnected. Bushnell states that the Phantom 2 can be connected to their app for updates. Disappointingly, at the time of writing the Phantom 2 is not one of the devices listed in the Bushnell app. This means I was not able to connect the Phantom 2 for updates.
