About this deal

We measure how much the temperature of a hot coffee drops, or cool water rises, over three hours for travel mugs and one hour for coffee cups. To remove the smell from your Mooncup, soak it in a small container of sterilising solution for the minimum recommended time (usually around 15 minutes). Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

When dishwashing a sippy cup remember to disassemble it as much as possible so all of the parts can be thoroughly cleaned. Remember to make sure that all of the different parts of the cup have dried out fully before use. Whether your favourite brew is a nice cup of tea or a revitalising mug of coffee, they’ll both leave their marks over time, building up to leave deep-seated stains that dishwashing leaves behind and even careful hand washing can’t remove. That’s where this magic powder comes in. Banishing even those long-lived stains you thought you’d never get rid of, it restores stained tea sets, badly-marked mugs and brown-ringed pots and flasks to mint condition. If there are any changes to the texture, flexibility or appearance of your Mooncup (aside from natural discolouration), or any signs of damage it’s time to replace your cup. Option 2 To sterilise after the first use we suggest using the cold water method. Mix water and steriliser fluid together according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Remember to change the fluid every 24 hours. Leave the parts in the sterilisation fluid for at least 30 minutes. Ensure there is no air trapped in the parts of the cup when they are placed in the fluid. Use a floating submerger to keep all parts in the fluid during sterilisation.https://goaskalice.columbia.edu/answered-questions/ins-and-outs-menstrual-cups-how-do-they-differ-tampons-and-pads If you’re going to be using public toilets, go on a camping trip, or might be somewhere else with no access to running water, you can also use specially made wipes to clean your menstrual cup. Just empty the cup as normal and use a menstrual cup wipe to clean it and then reinsert and sanitise your hands again! If you don’t have any wipes, you can use toilet paper; just make sure to get all the tissue off before reinsertion. Then as soon as you are home, be sure to clean your menstrual cup as usual.

Once your period is over, you might want to give your cup a really good clean before you store it, both for peace of mind and to remove any stains. (Some discoloration of the cup is normal and doesn’t affect how safe or effective it is, but some women don’t like the way it looks.) Here are a couple of ways you can give your cup a good deep clean. The Mooncup menstrual cup is made to last so it’s worth taking care of it properly. If it’s difficult to remove the O Ring by hand, a bottle brush can be gently slid under the ring. Long J et al. (2020). Menstrual cup use and intrauterine device expulsion in a copper intrauterine device contraceptive efficacy trial [OP01-1B].Our reviewer rated the coffee from this machine an easy 10/10. Though it took a little getting used to at first, once set up with the perfect grind size and pressure level, the espressos that were made were perfectly well-balanced and creamy. This should push anything in the holes out. Some cup designs don’t need air holes, so this is not a concern. Often working at the touch of a button, a bean-to-cup machine will grind the perfect amount of coffee for a well-extracted shot and then create the ideal level of pressure to prevent too much acidity or bitterness in your final drink. Some even come with automatic milk dispensers to make fine and frothy foam without any hands-on steaming. Ours are made from medical-grade silicone and are colourless to avoid using colour additives. They can be used for up to 12 hours at a time and are comfortable, safe, and a better choice for your body and the planet! So, you just bought a menstrual cup – now what?

Boiling your menstrual cup before the first use is essential. After that, you have options. You can boil the cup between cycles, or if you prefer, you can simply wash it with a menstrual cup cleanser or a mild, unscented, and oil-free soap. Boiling every time is not strictly necessary but is recommended for thorough sterilization. What to use to clean your menstrual cupOne Astonish reviewer said, “I’ve got a coffee travel mug I’ve never really cleaned well, it’s over a year old. Hadn’t really noticed how bad it had become. Used this Astonish cleaner, wow! Within 10 seconds of putting the hot water in the mug with the powder already in there, old coffee slime was bubbling out in the foam. Mug came out spotless with one use.” Holding the lid, detach the valve from the collar. You should be able to do this by pulling the centre of the valve but if it won’t come away easily then pull from the edge
