Each of the main actors (and their characters) get some screen time here, and all of them provide some interesting interviews. Marisa Mirabal of IndieWire gave the film a grade of B−, noting its plot's similarities to films such as It Follows, The Ring, Oculus and Final Destination. Colour depth is good, and pushes naturality, but there is nothing to wow, even fire lacks a little heat, tending towards yellow. The Dolby Atmos track creates a terrific 3D sound environment with the eery score taking the brunt of the effects, but it is suitably creepy, loud, and engaging.

But the best of the box is the inclusion of Finn's original short, Laura Hasn’t Sleptwhich gave birth to this wonderful gem. The Dolby Vision upgrades the warmer colors, especially towards the end of the movie with tons of ambers, yellows, and reds.I’d want to make sure that there’s a new, exciting, fresh way into it that the audience isn’t anticipating. The film follows her descent into madness and the impact her ravings and odd behavior have on the world around her. Rose Cotter ( Sosie Bacon - daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick), a frazzled, over-worked emergency therapist who accepts one last patient at the end of her busy shift at a local psychiatric hospital. Shania Russell at /Film compared the film to The Ring, It Follows and Truth or Dare and wrote, "It's all very familiar and probably not too hard to imagine how the movie will progress, but the scares will make or break the experience, and based on the trailer, Smile is more than promising.
