The collection of photographs is impressive, but they're placed all over the place and more often than not, completely unrelated to the passage you are reading.

The book is regarded as controversial because it has triggered a strong dislike of Chanel in many readers. Gabrielle Chanel was born in a poorhouse; her parents were unmarried and, according to Chanel, her mother Jeanne died of tuberculosis when Chanel was aged six. no matter how much we may agree or not with a choice in a person´s life, we werent really there and neither was the author to know exactly what happened that day in that place. It was unique in how it took a deeper dive into controversies and successes of her career and personal life, including those surrounding her signature fragrance, whether or not she was a spy, her social connections, and it provided an insightful synopsis of societal viewpoints and the context of the time.
