About this deal

On the lighter end of the beer spectrum, I wanted to try a macrobrew to see if Fizzics could enrich the experience, so I put in a can of Bud Light. In a side-by-side taste test of the Fizzics version of Bud Light, and a glass of it poured straight from the can, five of six taste testers, including myself, preferred the Fizzics version. One tester had no preference.

Instead, you simply insert the bottle or can of beer you want to drink and it is dispensed through the machine. After serving beers across the spectrum of styles through the DraftPour, I can see what these reviewers meant. Especially when using the ‘microfoam’ feature, the mouthfeel can be noticeably softer, especially with darker, richer beers. And I have to say, there’s just something about pouring the beer from a tap that changes the overall impression for the better. Does the DraftPour carbonate beer? Basically, everyone seems to agree this is one step shy of a professional bar keg, but about as close as you could want for at-home use without spending a great deal of money or investing in systems that require a ton of maintenance. For example, one buyer said: You also should note this was a massive success by the sharks on Shark Tank. The product was able to wow people who are experts in business and had done very well with online brewmasters. Coming in at around the same size as a coffee machine, the Fizzics device took less than a minute to get set up and didn’t take over our entire kitchen worktop.Unlike setting up a full-blown pump that you'd get in a pub with gas cylinders and miles of piping, setting up one of these pumps at home is a doddle. Plus, you can get your hands on kegs from Corona, Jupiler, Leffes, Stella Artois, Thornbridge and more with your machine as part of a starter bundle. Battery-operated and water resistant, the Underwater Disco Lightshow features a button that changes the patterns (some subdued, some dynamic), so you can alter the mood in an instant. What's more its curvaceous shape causes the lights to reach out to every corner of the bath. If you're feeling really decadent you could even plop this plastic doodah in your pool, pond or hot tub. Water based shenanigans will never be the same again. So to get the most out of my experience with the Fizzics DraftPour system, I decided to put it to the test by doing a side-by-side test. I would pour a beer into a glass as I normally would and then pour the same beer through the DraftPour. Fizzics works by pressurizing the canister after you close and latch the lid. Put your bottle in the machine, place your glass under the tap, and pull the handle forward, then it'll gently pour the body of your beer, controlling the flow digitally and keeping the bottle pressurized so as to keep the bulk of the carbonation within the beer.

There's still a bit of the theatre you get with Guinness at the pub as you have to wait for a bit of settling time to get the perfect pour. We loved how small and compact the Fizzics DraftPour is in our review office. It easily fits best onto any countertop and only weighs about 3.5 pounds, making it light enough to carry wherever you want to go and share craft beers. Fizzics did not make any beer I tried bad, even hoppy beers. Both IPAs were still easily palatable, I just thought they lost a little in translation. The only downside is that the two-litre kegs make it a bit more difficult to share, which we guess isn't too much of a problem! Powered by 4 standard AA batteries. Lightweight and durable making it ideal for outdoor activities, camping, tailgating, etc.

We should note that ciders are not recommended for use when you want to share the benefits of the Fizzics system. That is because they are a bit harder to clean up after use. It's even got a built-in Bluetooth speaker so you can play your favourite tunes while marvelling at the projections. Bit of Gustav Holst, anyone? Once you open the keg, you have 30 days to consume - but you’ll have to keep the machine plugged in. First off, our review team wants to say a big thank you to Fizzics. This was truly one of the more enjoyable review experiences we have ever had in our home office. We transformed our space into a Cheers-styled bar with a few of the Fizzics DraftPour dispenser stations around our desks. The number of extra hours our team spent hanging around and chatting during this review was because this system creates the best at-home relaxing atmosphere.

Starting with Out Of Mind, the coffee stout, I poured one can through the Fizzics system while another can was poured into a glass as I normally would. Visually, it was quite easy to tell these two beers apart. Fizzics adds a considerably larger and more dense head to the beer. It appeared as if it was a nitro beer. The Fizzics DraftPour isn’t necessary for enjoying a great craft beer but you could say the same thing about glassware or fancy bottle openers. But I’d argue that this is an item that will actually impact the flavor and drinking experience more than any other craft beer accessory I’ve tried. Whether you favour IPA’s, Pilsners, stouts, brown ales or lagers, you’ll be able to reap the benefits of the DraftPour experience. And thanks to its versatile design, it can hold both tall and regular size cans and beer bottles up to 650ml. You have two options for power, which is handy - it can be plugged into the mains or work off 2AA batteries. This post is sponsored but all of the thoughts and ideas are my own. Why should you buy a Fizzics DraftPour?
