About this deal

Rearrange the equation by subtracting what is to the right of the equal sign from both sides of the equation : This was our 20th visit to Islay at this time of year, and we have also been 7 times in the Spring, so we know the island very well. Islay is almost split in two, by two sea-lochs: Loch Indaal from the south and Loch Gruinart from the north, and indeed the land connecting these two parts is so low that I am sure that from a distance it could look like two separate islands. The western portion (where we stay) is called The Rhinns and has a distinct flavour of its own, with its west coast facing the open Atlantic Ocean, while the eastern, larger portion, has a long rather sheltered eastern coast, facing across a narrow sound to the Isle of Jura, and across a wider channel to the mainland.

To be able to remove something from under the radical, there have to be 2 instances of it (because we are taking a square i.e. second root). The focus wheel is perfectly positioned in the DoubleLink Bridge and requires only 1.4 turns from close focus to infinity. The design is not only rugged but highly ergonomic, ensuring precise rotation even with gloves on. I found the only real downside was the fact that eye relief and head position are critical with this optic. If I deliberately moved my head and shooting eye away from the optimal position, the conventional scope was more forgiving. However, this does mean that the 10×40 will let you know in no uncertain terms when you’ve got incorrect eye relief – and it’s then down to you to fix it.

These thinner lens elements have been placed closer together within the barrel resulting in a high-quality pair of binoculars that measure just 144mm in length and weigh only 640g. That’s up to 30% lighter than other comparable binoculars. They give my Pentax 10x43 ED’s a run for their money. Whilst the Pentax does have a mildly brighter image with less CA, improved contrast and colour fidelity, the image in the Leitz is flatter and wider, 6.3 vs. 6.0, with mildly less field curvature. The image is very compelling still. Night time stars are equally pin point in both the binoculars. Zeiss please take a lesson from Leica here. The Trinovid HD focus wheel is small, perfectly smooth and well-balanced. You don't need to over-engineer this feature.]

I don't know if there is any particular problem with these Uppendahl prisms. Henry might know why they never gained popularity. There was a recent thread about them being used in Bausch & Lomb (I think - maybe Bushnell) binoculars and that some of them were phase coated and they were highly regarded. I think Renze commented on them. He owned one and took it apart if my memory is correct. The implementation of this new prismatic design not only allows the 10x40to maintain a high optical output and a minimal size, but also a reduced bulk and weight, which results in a better balance for whichever shooting platform the scope is mounted on. This optimisation means that a shooter can aim for longer without fatiguing.I do consider the Pentax ED's just below modern Alpha binoculars so really for 40 year old binocular the Leitz’s do hold up remarkably well which is tantamount to the original excellent optical and build qualities. decent. I watch the waders on the sands settling to roost. But these don’t have the quite the deep dusk and moonlight penetration As usual I will not attempt a forensic technical assessment of the SFL’s optical performance as I am more interested to learn whether they can deliver enjoyable and informative nature observations.

This tapering makes it quite narrow, even at my IPD of 68/69. There is very little room for one's thumbs underneath. It is also quite long. An inch longer than my Leica 7 x 42 Trinovid. Parabolas have a highest or a lowest point called the Vertex .Our parabola opens down and accordingly has a highest point (AKA absolute maximum) . We know this even before plotting "y" because the coefficient of the first term, -1, is negative (smaller than zero). These Leitz’s can be obtained at reasonable prices still and can be acquired for around ½ to the price of a new Pentax ED or similar - depending on condition. They will hold their price well.I have observed for 40 odd years and have 30 odd mainly Hi-quality binoculars in my collection I would count the Leitz’s in my top 5. This scope is fitted with ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass which helps to maintain natural colour reproduction within the observable field of view, minimising chromatic aberration (colour fringing), resulting in high clarity, picture-perfect results even at long distances. According to the Quadratic Formula, x, the solution for Ax 2+Bx+C= 0 , where A, B and C are numbers, often called coefficients, is given by :

Subsequent presses will toggle through the various levels of illumination, and an extended press will turn off the feature altogether. Zeiss SFL 10x40 Binoculars are “SmartFocus and Lightweight”, designed specifically to have great performance and brilliant optics. Their solid magnesium housing ensures durability and longevity of use for many years to come. They can easily be transported in their dedicated carry pouch without becoming cumbersome over long excursions. I took the SFL 10x40 to the island of Islay (pronounced eye-la) for a period of 3 weeks during October-November. Islay is situated off the south-west coast of Scotland, about 16 miles from the Scottish mainland and about 36 miles from the north coast of Northern Ireland. Despite their incredibly compact design, the SFLs are high-performance binoculars through and through. They feature a new ultra-high-definition (UHD) concept which includes a special coating and improved optical design that ensures the binoculars deliver the highest level of detail and reproduce colour with natural fidelity. Parabolas can model many real life situations, such as the height above ground, of an object thrown upward, after some period of time. The vertex of the parabola can provide us with information, such as the maximum height that object, thrown upwards, can reach. For this reason we want to be able to find the coordinates of the vertex.Field of view of the 10×40 was more than double the regular scope, and the image was brighter too. Furthermore, the sight picture was sharp from one edge to the other. around. But with the full Moon blindingly bright in-field, I could detect no ghosts at all – an impressive The main feature of this scope is its wide field of view, and to test how wide I grabbed a standard telescopic sight, turned it to 10x to match the magnification of the Immersive Optics scope, then compared the two side by side when looking downrange on a dull and miserable winter’s day. With a design completely devoted to being lightweight and compact Zeiss have optimised these binoculars in every respect. They have reduced the lens diameter by 2mm* which has in turn allowed for thinner lens elements to be installed.
