Choosing the right white paint color can leave your head swimming and induce a lot of doubt, and I find that this helps readers determine which paint color is the right white paint color for them. So why didn’t I use Simply White in our bathroom? Actually that was my plan! But when I painted a large test sample in my bathroom, the yellow undertone of it was much more obvious than in any other room I’ve painted with Simply White. Why? Because it was up against the more cool toned blues of our marble tile, tub, and toilet. Chantilly Lace is at its best when it is on trim and cabinets. Its clean white look gives them a bright appearance that doesn’t look too terribly stark (because Chantilly leans slightly warm). Whenever I paint the walls of a room white, my choice for trim color couldn’t be easier – I use the same exact color as the walls but in a glossier sheen. People often look to use a different white color for trim because they want some contrast from the walls but you actually get that same contrast when you simply change the sheen. Like all whites, Chantilly Lace in semigloss or satin appears whiter (since it’s more reflective) than Chantilly Lace in flat or matte. It’s enough of a difference to get the contract that you want while still having the two different finishes go beautifully together. What Sheens of Chantilly Lace Paint I Used

Chantilly Lace is a bright white paint color by Benjamin Moore. It is a perennial favorite paint color for trim, cabinets, walls and exteriors. In addition, Chantilly Lace is probably Benjamin Moore’s most popular white paint color. Before we get into the actual color, let me say that I am discussing Sherwin Williams’ Pure White paint color, NOT Benjamin Moore’s Pure White paint color. They both have a “Pure White” but Sherwin William’s Pure White is much more popular than Benjamin Moore’s (and is also a better comparison for Chantilly Lace).For the trim in our bathroom, I used Benjamin Moore Advance in Satin (semi-gloss is also a great choice for trim – it’s just personal preference depending on how much sheen you like). Chantilly Lace is also a good white for exteriors if you’re trying to match whites with exterior trim. Oftentimes, a darker white can look dingy on siding when painted next to white windows or other white features. Chantilly Lace tends to not have this problem. For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. Chantilly Lace is such a clean white that it plays nicely with most other colors. It looks good with deep reds, smoky blues, blue-greens, grays, oranges and browns. I was convinced Simply White would work so my test resulted in a last minute run to the paint store for more samples which is when I decided Chantilly Lace would be best. The lesson learned is that while Simply White is a great versatile paint color for most spaces in your home, it’s probably not the best choice when being used right next to cooler toned tile or marble like Carrara because that’s when you’ll see the yellow in the paint color come out. Super White vs. Chantilly Lace While all white paint colors (and all paint colors in general) have undertones, Chantilly Lace has very minimal hints of color in it.Benjamin Moore describes Chantilly Lace as “as delicate and refined as the lace it was named after, this crisp, clean white evokes images of pure silk, soft linen and simpler times.” While totally corny, it’s actually a pretty spot-on description!
