About this deal

We do this using a variety of digital marketing networks and exchanges, advertising technologies like web beacons, pixels and cookies, in addition to technology offered by third parties such as Facebook pixel's custom audience feature. It's simple enough for children to be included (we let them pick another card if they couldn’t think of a clue for the four colours on the one they drew). For this second clue, we banned the use of words like light, dark and pale after someone followed the clue ‘poo’ with ‘darker poo’. You can block or delete them by changing your browser settings however, as described below under the heading " How can I control cookies?

A rule of thumb is to think it needs to be something that can be misinterpreted or, at least interpreted, differently by the group. The hilarity that ensues from some peoples’ clue-giving is contagious, and enough to draw anyone to the table. Neither can they say a clue regarding direction, such the number of the column it’s in, or the area of the board it resides. Yes, it can be tricky to think of unique cues to narrow people toward a certain color space, but I like challenges. But then I drew my first card, chose a color I thought would work well, and then looked at the board and my mind went haywire.

The standard game as described in the rulebook feels like it ends pretty quickly, and more than once I’ve played with people who’ve said “Shall we go round once more? When we first opened the game, read the rules, and sat down to play, we thought it sounded super simple. We have yet to play with players who are colorblind, so we don’t know what they’ll think of the game. The one area where we’ve deviated from the game rules is having all players draw cards at the outset. Give everybody else a one-word clue to the colour, and ask them to place their first cone on the square they think matches the clue. Thanks to the grid references, it is possible to play socially-distanced with one person managing the board. Using only one and two-word cues, players try to get others to guess a specific hue from the 480 colours on the game board!

The most glaring being that it is obviously not inclusive of people with colour-blindness and other visual impairments. It’s a really good ice-breaker for people who feel self-conscious too, as there’s no acting, bluffing, or social deduction. Since everyone imagines colors differently, connecting colors and clues has never been this much fun!If that wasn’t enough, thanks to the grid references it is possible to play socially distanced with one person managing the board.
