Manly Spirits Co. Distillery Gin range is distilled, bottled and labelled before being sent out into the world from our artisan distillery on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at Manly Spirits Co. ‘The Beaches’ Gin. How is it made? What does it taste like? How do you serve it? We’re revealing all below… How is Manly Spirits Co. ‘The Beaches’ Gin made?

ounce lemon juice, 1 ounce dark rum, 3/4 ounce orange juice, 1/2 ounce cherry brandy, 1/2 ounce light rum, 1/2 ounce high-proof dark rum, 2 dashes grenadine. The Boilermaker is a no-nonsense drink that’s available anywhere. You don’t need any fancy Mixologist degrees to pull this one off. As long as there’s beer and whiskey or rum, you can get it down you and then move onto something else. Separating Australian gin from the rest of the world, the spirits expert confirmed that there are a few common traits that are unique to the domestic market. This tour and tasting will show you how Manly Spirits make their gins, botanical vodka and liqueurs, from the raw ingredients to the stills and bottling. Taste, touch and get a whiff of all the botanicals used and then settle in for an in-depth tasting experience, to sip and compare. BYOB – Bring your own botanical! If you have something special, feel free to bring along something you've grown in the garden, or a favourite spice from your travelsFor a change, you can mix half and half sweet vermouth and dry vermouth. If you want to have a little more fun, toss a maraschino cherry in the bottom. Martini Heat your barbecue or grill. When nice and hot place the lobsters, cut side down, on the grill for no more than two minutes. After two minutes turn the lobsters over so they are shell side down, and place the lemon halves cut side down on the grill. If you've ever wondered how hard it is to make gin, here's your chance to road-test your skills as a distiller. Guests to the gin school will take a tour of gin's long and fraught history, learn both how Manly Spirits makes its gin and what it takes to produce a well-balanced and harmonious palate before using this newly-acquired knowledge to make their own bottle of gin. Place a slice of Manly Australian Dry Gin and herb butter on the cut side of each lobster. When the butter has melted into the lobster flesh they are ready. Serve each lobster with half a grilled lemon and enjoy. In a tall glass, mix together six double-jiggers of your favorite bourbon, six dashes of bitters, and one-inch shaving from an orange peel.

Just like the gin version, this tour and tasting focus on production at Manly Spirits, but with a keen eye on whisky. Guests will get to witness firsthand how the Australian single malt whisky is made, from mashing the barley to fermentation, distillation and barrel maturation. Plymouth-style gin gets its name because it’s a very geographically specific style. Like Cognac can only be produced in and around Cognac, France, Plymouth-style gin can only be distilled in Plymouth, England. It’s known for its similar flavour profile to London dry gin. The difference is that the base ingredients are different, and it’s known to be even drier. Old Tom Australian producer Manly Spirits Co has extended its gin range with a limited edition release called The Beaches. The Beaches bottle label brings the essence of summer to life If we haven’t reached the minimum number of 4 participants for a class, we reserve the option to cancel the class up to 7 days prior to its date. We will inform you within 7 days of the class date and we will give you the option to eitherSimilar to vodka, gin is made by distilling a neutral grain alcohol from grapes, wheat, barley, or some other fruit or grain. Here’s where it deviates from vodka though. It’s then infused with herbs and botanicals, and fruits like juniper berries, orange peels, coriander, and angelica root. Despite the potential health-issues associated with drinking raw egg yolk, we feel you can still get away with one of these, and besides, this raw egg only helps contribute to the Thunder’s reputation as a drink that will make axes appear in your hand, beards grow the length of your knees, and the ability to stand up for yourself in any situation come naturally. Gin is then infused with juniper berries (the main flavor mostly associated with the spirit) as well as other ingredients like orris root, Angelica root, licorice, coriander, lavender, orange peel, and countless other potential fruits, herbs, and botanicals. Where is Gin Made? The 40% ABV gin has been launched to coincide with the arrival of summer in the Southern Hemisphere.

The final recipe is a mix of tropical fruits, local coastal ingredients and classic Australian dry botanicals: Add all ingredients beside the soda water to a shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into a glass of ice. Fill the rest of the glass with soda water. Garnish with a slice of lemon and add a straw. With just about every distillery and their cat (it’s a thing) making at least one expression, with many offering seasonal limited releases and barrel-aged examples, if you’re not already drinking the stuff then now’s the time to start. And ‘I got really drunk on it once when I was a teenager and now I can’t touch the stuff’is not a valid excuse. The gin is said to boast a Piña Colada profile by combining and infusing the ‘iconic’ summer ingredients of mango, coconut and pine-n-lime ice cream. Oh, and do yourself (and the environment) a favor by getting yourself a home soda water maker. Not only do you get to enjoy sparkling water whenever you darn please, some studies suggest that it actually helps digestion and reduces constipation.

Start by making your butter. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well together. Put the butter onto a piece of greaseproof paper, cling film or foil and roll into a log shape about 4cm in diameter. Chill until firm, then slice the butter into 1cm slices. No, we’re not joking, this concoction is a favorite of nomadic tribes in Kenya and Tanzania, but it apparently has hangover-curing qualities too. This is thanks to the cow’s blood, which you chase after doing a shot of their traditional distilled liquor. You may never encounter it in your life, but if you ever find yourself hungover in Africa, you’ll at least now know what to do. Our distillery has two gorgeous Holsten stills dedicated to the production of our white spirits range. During production our stills, Bella and Jordan, are meticulously monitored by our Distillers for key timings. We choose not to use automatic cuts but rely on the well-tuned noses of our craftsman to ensure we extract as much flavour as possible from our botanicals while maintaining the balance of a pure, clean spirit. Literally whenever, but perhaps most acceptable at the beginning, middle, or end of the night. Hey, wait a minute….

I have always loved business and creating things,” Vanessa says. “So it is really rewarding to be creating a product that people enjoy drinking, discussing, sharing and even collecting.” ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 ounces carbonated water, 1/2 ounce sugar syrup, 1 1/2 ounce Old Tom Gin. Funds raised will directly contribute to reducing ocean plastics and protecting some of Australia’s threatened and endangered marine species.

A man’s summertime friend. A shot made up of bourbon, lemon juice, and honey will put some hair on that bare chest of yours. Still potent, but just enough lemon and honey to make it a smooth shot. This manly drink is something like a hot toddy, but the cooler summer version. Get over that summer cold with a gold rush & make it a double! Whenever you damn well please (unless driving or at work or anything that could get you in trouble), but really, when you’re happy to embrace being yourself, which is something we should all raise a glass to. Drink Up, Punk
