For my baby shower, my mom included these adorable cards in the invitation. The cards said “One small request that won’t be too hard, please bring a book instead of a card. They’ll cherish the book well loved or brand new, please sign the inside with a message from you.” What an amazing start to Danny’s library this was! People didn’t just bring one book, some brought dozens! In addition, my mom gave me our entire collection of Dr. Seuss books which is A LOT of books. This particular book is about dinosaurs and it is written in a rhyme like pattern. It talks about the illustrations as well as how you should probably go the other direction instead of touching a dinosaur of any type. It teaches children in a silly way that is sure to entertain them once they are able to understand the context of the words within the rhymes.

I loved reading as a kid and I still do. I want to instill a love for reading and books in Danny as well. It was not until relatively recently that Danny showed an interest in books. Each Friday I want to talk about something that I absolutely loved this week. I want to highlight something material, delicious, or an experience or activity that brought me or my family joy. My Friday Favorites are things that enrich my life and make my life easier, exciting, or generally happy. This week I want to highlight the “Never Touch A” series of books. You must never touch a porcupine . . . unless it's in this book! This woodland animal-themed touch-and-feel board book is great for children of all ages and fits perfectly into tiny hands. Kids will love reading the silly rhymes that warn the dangers of touching the animals--and then ignoring the advice!
