Blenheim Bouquet is presented in the classic Penhaligon’s flacon that is cylindrical in shape with an acrylic cap. As the previous commenter said, the opening does smell like a professional perfumer, recreated lemon pledge with all-natural oils. This discreet luxury fragrance, without extravagance, with a touch of tempered arrogance, is the signature of an English perfumery that has unfortunately lost its codes in globalization. The fragrance takes me to a woodland of a morning with a cool breeze, surrounded by pine trees of which very prominent to me in this fragrance.
Sweet yet still very citrus forward with a bright floral note that I can only attribute to the lavender note. Those that enjoy it love the burst of citrus set against powdery woody notes but few picked up on the lavender. I appreciate this fragrance is listed as a gentlemannish item and still popular, although it is old fashioned. This year, I thought of how beautiful the morning was, and marveled at how that September would be the very last one like it: The beauty of innocence and the thrill and promise of early Fall in New York City, where everything was possible. I wasn't a big fan of the perfume, on me I got a huge blast of lemon in the begining which eventually almost completely faded to just a woody musky cedar like scent.It took me a year to empty the bottle: When that year was past, New York still smelled like smoke, and so did everything and everyone, except none of us noticed it any longer: We'd all grown accustomed to it.
Furthermore, its story is bristling with history and represents a significant development in men’s fragrances.I'm sure the scent changed somewhat because for a long time only natural ingredients was used in most colognes/perfumes.
It’s the perfect summer scent, day or night but I think this could easily pass for a daytime winter wear.It was originally inspired by Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire where Churchill’s ancestors, the Dukes of Marlborough, were seated.

Update: On the dry down the pepper, lavender and musk come through as the intensity of the citrus quickly dwindles away. I was looking for a Summertime Pine fragrance, so I purchased Creed Epicea, Dior Granville, and Byredo Gypsy Water. My only criticism is that the combination of top notes give this a cleaning product type of vibe and I'm not one who usually says that about overly lemony or lavender fragrances because it's too easy to go there. It only lasts for a few hours so I apply it liberally in the evenings after my work fragrance wears off.
