About this deal

The Tribit FlyBuds 3 have remained on our list for several years because no other budget model offers as complete an experience. These earphones sound quite good, can withstand heavy amounts of moisture, and ship with a case that provides an impressive 95 hours of extra battery life. Who It’s For These buds are an upgrade on the Melomania 1 from Cambridge Audio. While the Melomania 1 Plus design may look similar to its predecessor, there’s a clear step up in terms of audio performance here, with levels of detail and clarity that could even rival some of the best over-ear headphones.

review: Google’s great AirPods Pro rival for Pixel Buds Pro review: Google’s great AirPods Pro rival for

As well as the excellent sound on offer here, Sony’s buds offer great call quality, too, which makes them a solid choice for all kinds of scenarios, from commuting to work calls and everything in-between. Design-wise, we found that these earbuds are smaller and lighter than previous models from Sony, like the Sony WF-1000XM3, which means they’re comfy to wear for long periods – though the Sony WF-C700N are much smaller and lighter again. The triple-point connectivity (a first in a product of this type) proves stable and useful, and thanks to ‘Just My Voice’ technology these earbuds are far less prone to wind-noise interference than any number of rivals. You cannot repair the earbuds or replace the battery, which makes them ultimately disposable and loses them a star.Voices should be natural, instruments should stand out from each other, and there should be a good sound balance overall between bass, mid-range and treble. Wefound that the JLab Go Air Pop are actually pretty good generally in our testing – and are emphatically unbeatable for the money.

If you're looking for a solid pair of wireless earbuds on a budget with noise cancelling baked in, then we highly recommend the Earfun Air Pro 3.I was very fond of the Redmi Buds 3 Pro and still use them regularly, so when these came in for review I was excited to see what Xiaomi had in store. Glad to say, I’ve not been disappointed. The new design is very comfortable to wear for extended periods and the buds deliver solid quality across a wide range of audio. ANC is a real bonus at this price, and while it isn’t the best on the market it still can make noisier environments a bit gentler on the ears. Google does not provide an expected lifespan for the battery, but it should last in excess of 500 full-charge cycles with at least 80% of its original capacity. Like most wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds Pro are not repairable, making them ultimately disposable. But there’s a lot more to love about the Melomania 1 Plus, including outstanding audio performance and an app that we found genuinely useful and easy to control during our testing. In terms of noise cancellation, we want to find buds that work well to drown out ambient noise day-to-day in a variety of environments. We test them in our pretty typical office environment, out walking in city traffic, and on public transport.
