About this deal

Leadbelcher basecoat then Ironbreaker layer on the metals – gun, chest eagle, and in this case the soft bits of the armour The Primaris Chaplain on Bike is a Space Marine HQ choice. These elite warriors and leaders are the spiritual leaders of the chapters and help with indoctrination of new recruits. On the battlefield, they inspire their brothers to do great deeds and punish heretics. This bike-mounted version is a fast melee-focused unit, that doubles support unit with its powerful buffs. Why They Are Good Apply a wash of Nuln Oil over the entire miniature. This wash settles into the recesses, creating depth and shadows, giving your miniature a weathered appearance. Use Ushabti Bone to highlight the edges and corners of the parchment parts with thin lines. This adds authenticity to the parchments.

During the Declare Battle Formations step, for each Leader in your army, if your army also includes one or more of that Leader’s Bodyguard units, you can select one of those Bodyguard units. That Leader will then attach to that Bodyguard unit for the duration of the battle and is said to be leading that unit. Each Bodyguard unit can only have one Leader attached to it. Despite our best efforts to split everything, Liam and I did end up with a bit of overlap as there are some things in here that are just too cool not to paint. Liam hopped in and painted up a unit of Eradicators, and I painted up the Judiciar as soon as I’d finished my main commitment. Silent angry dude with a big sword is just too cool not to paint. Canticle of Hate:  Core or Character unit within 6" of the Priest gets +2" to charge, and an additional 3" when piling in. Pair with Devout Push to allow you to move up to 12" by piling in 6" twice. The other big reason to take the codex litanies since it makes charges easier, allows us to really push into the enemy lines, or completely encircle the enemy unit with a large Crusader squad. The White Scars bring everything we should expect from a Space Marine chapter, with an excellent Chapter Tactic for a fast, combat-oriented force. They also have a cool character in Kor’sarro Khan and an excellent, striking color scheme. Strengths of the Army Captain on Bike [8 PL, 145pts]: Astartes Chainsword, Chapter Command: Chapter Master, Inferno pistol, Rites of War, Teeth of Terra, Warlord The robes are painted the same way as the red fists, and for this first Veteran I also added some heraldry to his badge in the quite simple form of a red stripe in the same colours and a skull from the Imperial Knights transfer sheet (the tiny Adeptus Titanicus version!) AT transfers are a good source for heraldry – Knights have a great variety of badges and a lot of the AT houses are unusual for 40k, so you can steal their iconography quite freely. I did the same for the other two Veterans. The shields are a fun place to play around with different things – I particularly like the Veteran with a night-sky kind of heraldry with a star at the top, and then the symbol of House Makabius re-purposed as his personal crest. Taking the heroic bearing warlord trait would boost his buffing/aura out to 9", and you can still use Angel Exemplar to give him he adamantium mantle. Replace the bolt pistol with a storm bolter and enjoy your 8 shots at 24 while buffing all core units with 9," all without giving up the thunder hammer. After years of collecting, buying and selling, building and painting, we realised that we had amassed a small library of Build Instructions, Assembly Instructions and User Guides for various Games Workshop products.

HQ: Kor’sarro Khan. 1 Model. He is equipped with: bolt pistol; Moonfang; frag grenades; krak grenades.- 110 pts Ah man. I looove my jump chaplain, but out of these high-mobility options the Primaris Bike does quite overperform by comparison these days given the 3 additional wounds. Especially when you consider than D1 relic! I'm not even looking to build any sort of hyper-competitive list, but given how killy so many things are these days, a 4-wound character dies from a sneeze. And of course it's ridiculous that the biker only costs +10p compared to a jump chaplain - considering you get +3W, +1A, +1T and twin bolt rifle + Absolver instead of just a bolt pistol. Balancing, ahoy? Sure, jump chaplain has additional weapon options, but those come with their own points cost. Sigh. Sounds like I need to buy yet another chaplain* at some point, and my two favorites (jump & terminator) will be further gathering dust for the most part. But I hate basically just hiding with my "heroes" due to fragility, like I pretty much had to do with my Sisters in a small tournament yesterday. The commanding Oratory strat (2CP) - allows you to auto recite 1 litany in a phase other than the command phase. This solves the big problem of units incoming from reserves normally being ineligible to receive chaplain support. Litanies are normally recited in the command phase, while reinforcements don't show up until the reinforcement step of the movement phase. So, with this 2 CP, being able to aid deep strikers is big. Just remember to read the whole rule--you only get to recite one, instead of the 2 that a master of sanctity can recite. Also, it's an auto pass. Sometimes that alone is reason enough.

Other than that, the way I painted them is the same as all my other Crimson Fists, as per one of our very earliest HTPEs and extracted below for convenience:

Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: Still digesting the new BT Codex (which overall is great... well done, GW!), but already several "combos" jump out to me:One layer of Khorne Red and then another layer of Mephiston Red on the red bits (left gauntlet, shoulderpad) I had some thoughts while I spent time on that novella I call a forum post about Templars so I'll quote some combos I noticed from that:
