About this deal

Copper on light brown hair was lovely. I decided I wanted it brighter. This was where my 1 disaster occurred. I put copper on light blonde extensions with no issue. When I put copper on my bleached hair, it turned BLUE! Took me a lot of correcting work & used another brand which was brighter with more red tones to get it how I wanted it to be. So copper on bleach treated hair didn't work in the first instance. I've still got red & purple to try.

This depends on the type of dye you use and the colour of your hair. Most aren't permanent, but if you bleach your hair before using the dye, then this will last a lot longer. Dying your own hair at home can be daunting, therefore, finding the right box dye that guarantees great results is a must. Here's what you should look for in a box dye: Now onto the details: the whole saga seems kinda confusing, but really it’s as simple as filling the reusable pot with your conditioner, adding in the drops (the more you add, the more vibrant the colour will be), mixing, applying to damp hair, leaving it to marinate and then rinsing out. The whole process is very self explanatory (even for me who always pushes instead of pulls on both-way doors).

Home toner is not as harsh as bleach or pigments, but it can still break down the strands of your hair if you use them too often. We recommend using toners when you need a colour refresher. Make sure to keep your hair in shape with colour-friendly shampoos and conditioners, alongside your toning routine. The chemicals in salon toners should only be handled by professionals so, step in, silver conditioners and purple shampoo for bleached hair, which help you achieve a similar effect. These are technically considered toners because they contain smaller portions of pigments that temporarily dye (or tone) your hair. Look no further. We've found the best hair toners to top up, maintain and keep up your tones. These little beauties will keep your blonde hair bright (meaning you face no stress from looking for the best blonde hair dye), brunette hair chocolatey and coloured hair shining. Even better, we've enlisted the help of hair experts to really show us what to look for in our hair toners.

The first thing I’d like to applaud is the brand’s low-plastic approach: all you get is a reusable mixing pot and the drops (which did mean I had to use an old toothbrush as a stirring tool and scavenge out some protective gloves, but for the good of the planet that's A-OK with me.) An after-care treatment/conditioner – after-care is crucial to maintain soft, silky and healthy hair.High-quality gloves are a must – box dye gloves can be thin and prone to breaking, so make sure you have some spare disposable gloves at hand.
