The development does not end between the two main characters. It is also important to note that the side characters in this manga have their important roles and growths with interactions with the main characters. Villains are seen in different lights, and there is nothing more complex than the thinning of who's good and bad. In the end, the shoujo tropes that engulf the characters are merely the tip of the iceberg, a counter top, a topsoil to their being. As the story digs deeper, as adventures become parts of the past, the characters grow on you, and such earned concern becomes a gear to curiosity about how everything, how everyone will turn out in the end. As the Master of Tomoe and Mizuki, she also has the ability to have them obey her words when expressed earnestly even if it's against their will, (Word Restraint, a proof of absolute obedience). I love rom-coms and the manga just topped off my dreams for the anime, reading the manga genuinely made me cry, I don't care about cliches, I feel like this

Well, like normal romance, she is taken in by someone and falls in love with the person even if he is not of this world. It would be fine if this was a normal romance with the man being a human but in this case, we have a fox spirit who has a really bad temper at times. At first glance, I guess you could consider Tomoe a muli-personalitied demon. He will fix Nanami dinner after telling her he despises being her familiar; call her a idiot when he is trying to save her; and things similar of that nature. With all the whining he seems to do about her, you would think he would just up and quit when he got a chance, right? Well, that’s what I thought when he was free of his duties at one part but then he reinstates his position as her familiar again. That is not a real spoiler as it happens really early in the show but it’s a good example of just how split this guy is. Her idealistic belief that humans and yokai can live and love together in peace is a constant source of contention between Nanami and Tomoe, who believes such ideas are human-centric and foolish. Partly out of a stubborn drive to change Tomoe's mind but mostly out of her earnest desire to help others, she orchestrated and continues to support the love affair between Himemiko (a catfish yokai) and Kotarou Urashima (a human boy). Why is this anime liked mostly by girls? Is it worth watching if i am a guy? The response here is subjective but i would say yes. The thing is that the female lead's personality is fairly simple with some special qualities that are still human like kindness and sensibility which makes female readers relate easier to her. On the other hand the male lead is what girls would imagine to be the dream personality of a possible male partner so it is basically like this manga nailed most of the male traits to suit female readers. I personally find it to be adorable how girls think these days.

These types of old-school anime rom-coms just don’t tend to last very long. Is Kamisama Kiss destined to have the same fate? He has a short temper, often shouting or telling Nanami off for being late home or for being clumsy, and is also quite straightforward and blunt, telling Nanami that she is annoying when she asked him about it one day.
