About this deal

Writing such a series is a huge undertaking and I am full of admiration for Elizabeth Jane Howard for completing such a compelling (well mostly) family saga. But 20 years later, the firm is foundering, its revenues falling and its property portfolio rapidly becoming a liability rather than an asset. Her stunning writing ability, and her almost blase innocence combined with her energetic, creative mind enchanted me. Second-rate young men went abroad, their CVs condensed into the acronym FILTH: Failed in London, Try Hong Kong.

There are lots of family members to get to know, so you have to concentrate in the first hour, but the distinctive actors make this easier. Polly and Clary, now in their late teens, finally fulfill their ambition of living together in London.

I never heard of the Cazalet Chronicles but discovered them on a suggested reading list which included some other favorite books. Frank see’s Eveline for who she really is, a kind and gentle girl who is urging to explore new grounds.
