About this deal

However, the button that controls this also allows to cycle between single and continuous shooting at 1. One gripe I do have is that while the frame lines being so central is handy, they do seem to get lost in bright light. The parallax correction marks are offset by quite a bit from the default position though, so I’m not sure how accurate the normal framing rectangle is when the subject is fairly close. The (New) Sure Shot looks incredibly similar to the original, and the majority of the features are unchanged. Such as a date stamp that lasts up to 2049, various captions that you can imprint on your photos (only on caption model).

Flash is on auto upon powerup and settings are not retained on shutdown, but it’s only two quick presses on the flash button to disable it. The button on mine doesn’t seem hard to press the whole way although it does stop halfway if you only press it lightly. A rapidly flashing light warns of camera shake (because we’re taking a slightly long exposure) and we should try to hold things as steady as possible or use a tripod. The focal lengths are indicated on the lens barrel, viewable from above, in three increments (50, 70 and 85 – the default 38mm is not indicated). Batteries: Older versions use plain-old AA batteries, which are easier to find but don’t last as long as camera specific batteries like other models have.We probably only have a few more days of swimming weather, and have winter to look forward to, as much as Sydney has a winter (not that much). I’m sure it would have been less of a ‘loss’ had it bee The location of this, inside the filter ring of the lens, meant that the meter would function accurately even with filters fitted to the lens. At times when my photographer brain says “those shadows are too harsh” a quick flick of the switch solves the problem by forcing a fill flash.

Choose a film that is appropriate for the lighting conditions and the subject matter you plan to photograph. It helped that there was a TV ad campaign on at the time, but they were easy to sell because they were easy to demonstrate with very few whistles and bells. Fortunately, it’s incredibly easy to find information about any of the Sure Shot models that didn’t make it onto this list. From what I can tell it’s the same camera, just with an extra 3 elements that hop in for the extra 70mm f6 focal length. People say that there’s no such thing as a perfect camera and, perhaps, the 35mm point and shoot is the most imperfect of all.

This example looked really clean, had a fresh battery, it’s original neck strap and leather hip pouch. Other times I shot normally and noted the aperture on the SLR, assuming that the point and shoot would use something similar. The shots were carefully metered, composed, thought about; I was so looking forward to seeing the results. This is partly because I find talking about minutiae like sharpness in the corners or whatever really boring and also beside the point when you’ve bought something like this. The idea behind these dual-lens modes was that the wider lens was for snapshots and landscapes, the closer lens was for more flattering portraits.
