About this deal

With the children, develop a framework for a suspense story that is based on one of Varjak’s adventures in the city. Wow, that is amazing! Thank you so much for your kind words, Adam! There will definitely be a third Varjak book one day; in the meantime, I hope you'll try my new book Phoenix. It might look very different on the surface - humans and aliens, instead of cats and dogs - but I think it has many of the same themes & ideas underneath it all... I just want to wish all my readers Happy Midwinter! My new book Tyger is set at Midwinter, around about now, but in a strange alternate world where there is no Christmas, but there is Midwinter... and this year, Midwinter Night falls on the night of December 21st.

Hi there, thank you very much for your kind comment! To answer your questions: I named the character after my own cat, who was called Varjak Paw; and I'm not sure when the third one will be exactly, but it will happen one day! I wrote a bit about it here. In the meantime, I hope you'll try my new book Phoenix, which has just been published. It's not about Varjak Paw, but if you like the Varjak books, I hope you'll like it too...Incredible news - my new book Tyger has just won the Children's Fiction Book Of The Year at the British Book Awards! Hello Rose, and thank you so much for that brilliant comment! I love it when I find a book that I can't stop reading, so it's fantastic to hear that you felt like that about The Outlaw Varjak Paw! I hope you'll enjoy my other books too!

The second adventure in the life of the extraordinary Mesopotamian Blue, Varjak Paw: kung fu for cats! Varjak is inquisitive and brave, he is different from the rest of his family. Not just in his appearance (He has yellow eyes, while theirs are green) but also in the way he acts. ‘ This is because Varjak is standing on the very edge of the only place he has known all his life. Who is the illustrator of Varjak Paw? hello I love reading the book 'Varjak paw' can you please make one more book or even 2 more? OH MY GOD! it is the best cat book I'VE EVER READ! i love your books! thanks bye! The first four chapters of the book set the scene and introduce the reason for Varjak’s departure from the house. Chapter five sees the cat’s dramatic climb to freedom and gives readers the chance to reflect on Varjak as a character. As he sits on the top of the wall at the end of the chapter, ask pupils to think about how he’s feeling. Write up the following sentence stems: Cats, martial arts, Gothic urban landscapes, bravery, power struggles, creepy towers, juicy fish and some very loyal dogs... this book has it all" – Delirium's Librarian Varjak Paw has been widely translated. It has inspired a play, an opera and several unofficial animations.
