But I go back to that incident so often and I think: "If he had told me, what would have happened next? Wow congratulations to Alice Hunter on an absolutely brilliant debut novel,a true page turner very difficult to put down just had to keep reading. Jenny didn't have a great childhood as her father went to prison for a very long time and she has never told anyone the truth as she worries that they will think that she has his evil genes. But I did find it a bit slow in parts and only fully invested in it about the last third of the book. Jenny has had several blackouts and does not remember what happens the next day, so she wonders has she got anything to do with Oliva’s disappearance and she keeps doubting herself. And the crime is harrowingly similar to those her father committed all those years ago…Then there’s the blackouts, mysterious packages being left at her door.
