About this deal

Blind bought this and kind of regretted it a little bit, first spray it’s very citrusy but after an hour or so it turns woody and gingery.

Overall this wears as a fairly dry citrus aromatic: petitgrain (the scent of a young orange tree leaf) lasts longer than many other citrus notes, but it's also quite a bit more arid than the smells of citrus fruit juices. The "reminds me of" list here is downright perplexing, and I'll explain that soon, but first, the perfume. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or reliability of the AI-generated pros and cons.

This sets an unfair expectation for what's inside, and the branding and name Artisan does little to help matters. I get a very similar vibe from xerjoff mefisto even though they're completely different, they have the same uplifting and natural vibe to them. She is responsible for maintaining the encyclopedia and also serves as a news scout and investigative fragrance journalist.

I have noticed ZERO people wearing this in my area, aside from me and I would imagine, it would be the same in other locations. The bottle is definitely pretty though so if you care more about the bottle and not so much the fragrance then 10/10 recommend. But even in that case, it would have been nice for the opening to have lasted a BIT longer and the base notes to have been a BIT more projecting. More seriously, Artisan Pure has the DNA of the JV family, but it stands out as the brilliant young brother who is kicking your ass at everything.

Its certainly has its own character and quite a refined smell, but I do pine for the top notes to last longer, they really are divine. They also say that it has a unique and refreshing citrus scent that is very pleasing and perfect for the workplace. John Varvatos Artisan Pure is a crisp, woody, citrus scent inspired by the lush hills of Xalapa, Mexico and its vast coffee and citrus groves. Artisan Pure bears a close likeness to Nio by Xerjoff but unfortunately the longevity/performance is absolutely shocking. It contains notes of clementine, petitgrain, thyme, orris root, marjoram, woody notes, mandarin orange, lemon, bergamot, musk, amber and ginger.Opening smells sharp and synthetic like a toilet cleaner or a soap bar if you wanna give the greens the benefit of doubt.

Repair the sprayer, center the collar and make a better cap - otherwise it's a very nice citrus scent.Expect around 5-6 hours before you'd have to reapply but the musky/woody drydown sticks around for a while. Out of all the reviews here for Artisan Pure, only one person other than myself smells a similar opening to English Leather cologne and aftershave by Dana (formerly Mem)? As we move into the heart of the fragrance, the fresh green character of petitgrain and thyme burn off a bit, bringing soft oily bergamot to the forefront, with the mandarin trailing behind. It's just difficult not to enjoy this one, and I look forward to breaking it out again, with the warmer weather fast approaching.
