About this deal

It was completely lovely, powdery in a heavenly way, but still I was unsure because I didn’t know if I really wanted to smell like peaches in powdered sugar.

I never owned this, but my good friend Susie had a large bottle of Vanilla Fields the year it came out. The vanilla is wound around the whole fragrance, and it's sweet and boozy but not cloying or overpowering. Also, it looks like Casmir is no longer produced by Coty but, according to the info on my new box, by PFCH Luxe Italia S.I caught florals and green notes and the older style of vanilla on which other reviewers have commented. Examining the It dries down slowly to more cinnamon and amber, though as an incense lover this sits so very far from what I associate with amber. Some say it is cloying, but compared to so many other vanilla-heavy, saccharine gourmands, I find this vanilla to be tempered by oriental spices and resins. Remembering the good blog "Are our noses raised gender-specific" by the nice lady behind LS5 on the topic "Heteronormativity in the perfume world", I decided to choose with Cašmir by Chopard once again a women's fragrance.

I have to admit that I don't gravitate towards fragrances the prominently feature vanilla, so my nose may not be accustomed to smelling it without associating it with ultra sweetness.Olfactory path that embraces all categories: amber, balsamic, boisée, hesperidate, floral, musky, épices, talc, tropical, vanilla, an absolute triumph, typical of vintage structured perfumes with oriental reminiscences. Top notes are Peach, Coconut, Mango, Bergamot and Fruits; middle notes are Geranium, Jasmine, Floral Notes and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Vanilla, Amber, Sandalwood, Musk, Patchouli and Woodsy Notes. I got one more vintage bottle of this recently (so I now own one new bottle and two vintage bottles). Although this is my first time writing reviews for perfume, my nose isn't trained at best but all I can say is that the benzoin, exotic like waxes are strong (the ones listed in the base note) do come quicker than I expected. Bought this perfume because I am a big fan of Gucci Rush (who the perfumer of Casmir also created) however you would never think just on smelling that these came from the same 90's decade, let alone the same nose.

Not as spicy and dark as other Orientals of the Eighties/Nineties, but still very rich and luxuriant and with lots of vanilla. Pure happiness, yummy desserts, butterflies in your stomach, mommy's old powder box that you secretly played with. It's SO good, it brings up so many memories of my happy childhood, I feel butterflies and comfort when I smell it.

Nostalgia bomb for sure--I get the 90s vibe this evokes, but this is classier and more gourmand whereas VF is more aromatic. Designer’s Description: “Over handsome woody notes of deep amber, lingering musk, rich vanilla and fresh patchouli, comes Casmir—a floral bouquet of fragrant jasmine, sunny geranium and soothing lily of the valley. I like sniffing it, there's something Nostalgic about it even though I've certainly never smelt Casmir before, but I doubt I could wear it. Chopard has created the first red carpet fragrance, a glossy, flirtatious whirl of the most gorgeous roses in the world.
