About this deal

The machine features a boil dry protection function which stops the machine from burning out. If the water empties, the sensor inside will cut off power automatically should the temperature inside the machine increase. Total peace of mind when you get distracted on the job. Of course, if you follow the Makita recommendation, your brew will be rather thin. But if you go with your own preferences, you can make a really nice drink.

Great little Coffee Maker, can only recommend if your already invested in the Makita Eco-System as it is quite battery hungry to brew a cup of Coffee. Have put it though it's paces. Will brew about 2 1/2The idea behind this is that you’re already using Makita power tools, so you surely already have at least one of them. These pods are not that easy to come by, as only a few brands make them. But given that you can use pre-ground coffee as well, I’m not too bothered by the pods. As for the coffee pods, you can’t use your favorite K-cups and other compatible options. Instead, you have to use 60mm coffee pods, which basically look like round tea pouches.

Another important factor in choosing battery operated coffee makers is what forms of coffee they accept; whole Beans? Ground coffee? Pods? Capsules? This lithium ion cordless coffee machine accepts either your favourite ground coffee or 60mm coffee pods. The ground coffee option is fairly standard for a drip coffee maker and can either accommodate pre-ground shop-bought coffee, or your own favorite beans ground to demand. And don’t forget that this is a portable coffee maker. Plastic is the way to go if you want to keep it lightweight. Another thing to consider is that you ensure enough charge left to complete your work (if you’re using the same battery for both the coffee maker and the tools you’re using). Many users report that the Makita makes consistently hot coffee. While it may not be quite up to the standard of coffee produced by an SCA-certified machine, it’s the best quality coffee you can find for cordless, portable brewing. Even with the diminished quality, it is still far better than instant coffee. For a stronger flavor, use dark roast grounds. Any Alternatives?

Put the desired amount of coffee into the mesh basket, and fill the water tank with the desired amount of water. Hot water is unnecessary as the heating elements within the battery-operated machine will do the heating for you rather than by a separate cordless kettle. Slide in the battery needed for your brew and push the start button on the front of the coffee machine. All that now remains is to wait, which is arguably the most challenging part. The coffee maker will automatically turn off after the brew cycle is finished, and it will even shut off to protect the machine from damage if there is not enough water in the water tank ( 1). The Makita Coffee Machine also is quite compact and lightweight and will be easy to travel with if you want to take it camping or on a trip. It is 8-9/16” tall and has a 3-½” cup clearance. Accessories

The included cup is NOT insulated, nor does it have a lid. Only a cheesy plastic cover which is probably meant as a splash shield. I like its small compact size, although it feels very toy-like. However, if you don’t already have a Makita battery, you’ll have to buy it separately. That can add up quite a lot to the total price, which I’m not thrilled about. If you’re no stranger to power tools, the chances are you’re already familiar with Makita’s range of tools, or at least aware of the company. Makita is a Japanese company established in 1915. These days, it is one of the most well-known power tool brands. It began making cordless tools and equipment in 1978 and, with such a long history of producing them, is considered an expert in cordless equipment. FindThisBest (UK) aims to create a platform to help you make better shopping decisions with less time and energy. Earning our users' trust is central to what we do. Picture the scene – you’re busy in the workshop using a Makita cordless chainsaw, but after a while, you need a break; you need a coffee. So, you remove the battery from the chainsaw and pop it into the Makita battery-powered coffee maker you have with you. Then, you add some grounds, pour in some water, and press a button. Soon after, you have your coffee. What’s also great is that the machine will shut down in case there’s not enough water in the reservoir. That way, it prevents overheating and malfunctioning. Compatible with 60mm cafe pods as well as ground coffee (not compatible with Dolce Gusto or Tassimo) The operation of this is remarkably simple and reliable. You simply make sure the water tank is full, slide in the correct battery, add either ground coffee or a special pod, push the button on the front of the 18v coffee maker and wait for your freshly brewed coffee. Is hot water required before the coffee maker can start working? This can definitely be a make-or-break factor for many buyers since they might not have easy access to hot water when they’re away from home. It is safe to assume that campers will have a reliable way to heat up water. However, if you’re traveling cross-country in a car, you may want to have a coffee maker that heats up the water on its own.

All in all, as we said before the Makita DCM501Z is definitely our favorite – it’s convenient, reliable, and built to last. Even though it is our recommended choice, we can understand why some consumers would want to forgo it; the combined cost of both the coffee maker and the battery could definitely be a turn-off. If you’re not satisfied with our recommendations and want to do a bit of digging on your own, here are a few tips that can help. The filter is susceptible to clogging if you overfill it, or use coffee that has been too finely ground such as espresso-style coffee. Clogging will result in leakages starting from the filter because the water is unable to pass through the coffee. We’ll discuss which coffee is best later on. I put fully charges 5 amp makita battery on and makes 2 cups worth before battery dead works well and is easy but would need alot battery always on charge to use all day Just because you are at work, that does not mean that you cannot get your caffeine fix and brew yourself fresh coffee for when you need it! After you’re done, you’ll have to recharge the battery before using your power tools again. And depending on the size, that can last up to an hour, which isn’t that impressive. Dedicated cup of 240ml capacity designed to fit in machine without leaving a gap to protect against splash and dirt entry
