About this deal

It is not the first time a place in Kent has been granted the honour of featuring in its very own edition of the iconic trading game.

Maidstone Monopoly Board Game From 29.99 GBP | The Works

We chose Maidstone because there is sort of three things we really look for and that sort of a really family-friendly vibe, there are lots of landmarks that will look great on the board and then also lots of pride in the community as well. We’re incredibly excited to announce that Maidstone Distillery features on the game board in place of Trafalgar Square on the standard edition board and alongside many other iconic Maidstonian landmarks and businesses. The new edition features all the famous multi-coloured property squares we're used to but, instead of the likes of Pall Mall and Park Lane, they are occupied by more than 30 landmarks and charities from across Maidstone. After beating off competition from 24 other European countries including Chartres in France, Mr Monopoly has brought his franchise to Kent’s County Town. What is the point of free parking, can you collect money in jail and do you collect two payments of 200 Monopoly money if you’re directed to ‘Go’?Even Maidstone’s famous attractions have got involved trying to gather support, so they can claim they’re square on this latest edition. More than 30 local landmarks, businesses and charities feature in the board game put together from 5,000 suggestions from members of the public. Leading landmarks from Maidstone will replace those from the original Monopoly game and the public are being invited to vote for landmarks and cards to feature in the game. Leeds Castle has been named the ‘Mayfair of Maidstone’ and our sister paper the Kent Messenger takes Fleet Street as the county town gets its very own version of the family favourite board game Monopoly.

The last owner of Leeds Castle, Lady Baillie, bought this enchanted castle in 1926 and spared no expense, with her two internationally acclaimed designers, in turning it into the most luxurious and glamorous backdrop to host her country house weekends.

Then the artwork for the board is designed, including imagery of the town’s most famous landmarks chosen to represent each property, before the physical product is manufactured in Ireland ready for purchase in time for Christmas. As MONOPOLY announce a new Maidstone version of the iconic game Maidstone Borough Council is urging residents to vote for places to feature on the new board game. Today it has been announced that Maidstone will become the latest location in Kent to be honoured with its own version of the famous board, with local landmarks replacing the traditional London locations.

The makers of the popular game, are asking residents to vote for other attractions and locations to make up the squares. The makers are asking for resident involvement to vote for which attractions will make the cut and feature on the brand new game board.

The people of the town are now being encouraged to come forward with their suggestions for addresses to feature and local prizes and forfeits to be included on the Community Chest cards. I think Maidstone is under appreciated, it’s a fascinating county town of Kent, it’s got an incredible legacy, manufacturing, factories, distilling, it’s really thriving, the people who work and live here are really passionate about it. As MONOPOLY announce a new Maidstone version of the iconic game, MBC is urging residents to vote for places to feature on the new board game. Well thanks to the game makers behind the beloved board game, all these questions and more will be answered as its been announced Maidstone will get its own Monopoly board. If you’ve ever played Monopoly you’ll be familiar with the lowest of lows at Old Kent Road and the highest of highs with Mayfair and Park lane.
