About this deal

Generally speaking, submersible pumps are used to drain or transfer water from shallow sources (up to about 7 metres). Many of them are fitted with a float that can be switched on and off. When activated, the pump will start operating at a certain water level, and when deactivated the pump can manually drain an area 'dry'. These pumps are used for draining flooded cellars, gardens, rooms, barns, and so on, but are also practical for draining water from reservoirs, barrels, swimming pools, ditches, or canals. Which accessories will be handy for you?

The Ebara BEST ONE MS is the market leading domestic and light commercial submersible drainage pump in the UK. Ideal for pumping cellars, dewatering ground, pumping floodwater and pumping septic tanks. Standard versions can pump solids with a maximum diameter of 10mm. Vortex impeller versions can pump solids up to 20mm in diameter. Versions are available with and without an integral float switch - 'M' versions are without, 'MS' versions have a magnetic float switch and 'MA' versions have a standard float switch for automatic operation.. Vortex impeller versions have the designation 'VOX'. The Pentair Compac/DPC range are submersible pumps for clean water, designed to drain domestic applications. Ideal for limited spaces. Complete with integral float switch, which can be selected in automatic or manual mode. Suppose you have a particular space, such as a cellar, that is frequently flooded during heavy rainfall, but you want to protect the stored products. However, the automatically activated submersible pump you selected does not start draining until a water level of about 10 cm has been reached, which is an undesirable situation. How would you solve this problem? This refers to clean, clear, almost potable water that contains no or hardly any solid particles (sand). Every submersible pump can handle this type of water. In this case, you are advised to consider the other points with regard to choosing the most appropriate submersible pump. A submersible pump is sometimes called a bell pump, and, as the name suggests, it is installed underwater. It has a suction grid fitted to the bottom, through which water is drawn directly into the pump, which then runs towards the pump outlet (also referred to as the delivery connection). A discharge hose or pipe is connected to the pump outlet to drain the water. Our top 3 Submersible drainage pumps → Waste water The type of water the pump needs to process is important when you are choosing the most suitable submersible pump; we have subdivided these into four categories.

This type of water refers to slightly clouded water that contains sand or other small solid particles, which should not be larger than about 10 mm. Examples include water in a flooded cellar, bathwater, and rainwater mixed with road dirt. Apart from knowing whether the float switch should act in a normally open or normally closed position, there are several other considerations when selecting a suitable float switch for a sump pump. This sump pump with vertical float is great for dirty water transfer, grey water, household waste water, septic systems, sump draining, pool emptying, sullage pumping and storm water systems. With routine maintenance, sump pump float switches can last up to ten years. How high should I set my sump pump float? For effective water regulation and control, our range of float and pressure switches provides the perfect accessories to go with your pump supplies. A float switch or pressure switch is a simple yet efficient way to keep the water at the desired level, with the ability to both detect the water level and adjust this level accordingly. Whatever type of switch you need, you will find exactly what you are looking for among our many different styles.
