About this deal

During the interval, I passed a young girl doing some traditional dance for her mother. Her delight and skill underlined what this show is all about. Nadine: “I am delighted. I have been a fan of Michael and the Lord of the Dance since I first seen it…so the last 20 years. Everything Michael has done just gets better and better every time. When we first met and Michael asked me to be part of the show, I couldn’t believe it. I was on cloud 9 and I still am! Here in the London Palladium singing songs among such amazing cast and creative…I am just so delighted. I can’t thank Michael enough for this opportunity.” Q: [to Michael] How has the show changed? There are lyrical dances with horses and a unicorn beamed onto the screen - well, Theresa May was in town.

Partly for the sheer sexiness of all that leg action, partly because of the music and the fact it still referenced the dances that many of us learnt at a tender age. January to 19 December: Israel, Germany, England, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Portugal. These cast members were on Flatley's return tour throughout Europe and are on the 3D film which was later released on DVD and Blu-ray.You can expect spellbinding stuff as the dancers weave a fascinating good versus evil tale inspired by traditional Irish folklore. The second the lights dim you'll be transported to another time and place. A fiery blend of precision dancing, so skilful you'll be left breathless, state of the art lighting and thrilling pyrotechnics makes this a brand new classic in the art of stage storytelling.

With new music by composer Gerard Fahy, this ‘extraordinary and supremely stirring show’ (Daily Telegraph) combines the best of tradition with all the excitement of new music and dance. Dangerous Games runs until September 2015, a performance that's rich in the great man's distinctive brand of contemporary and traditional Irish dance. It's due to be his final West End appearance and the young lords of the dance he has chosen to play the part in his place are super-seriously talented, not to be missed. Lord of the Dance had preview shows at the Point Theatre in Dublin from 28 June to 1 July 1996. The show staged a premiere performance on 27 June 1996 – the video was filmed on 2 July 1996. Flatley said, “I’m delighted that London has once again welcomed us so warmly, and to be able to extend the show’s run by moving to the very beautiful Playhouse Theatre makes me feel immensely proud of what we’ve achieved. I am delighted for my dancers that they can continue to perform in this great city.”Fast forward 20 years and the Flatley brand is going strong. Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games is the most recent incarnation and it filled the Waterfront Hall. If you had to list the cultural definers of contemporary Irishness, you'd include Seamus Heaney, Van Morrison, maybe The Pogues and definitely Michael Flatley. Flatley's return to performance in Feet of Flames Taipei in 2009 marked the first step to his return in the show. Irish dance champions Fergal Keaney and Cathal Keaney will be joined by Morgan Corner and James Keegan (also world Irish dancing medal holders) in the role of the Lord of the Dance. Michael Flatley found his first fame starring in Riverdance, but he left the show in late 1995 due to conflicts over creative control. He dreamed of, and put into action, a plan of putting together a dance show capable of playing in arenas and stadiums instead of traditional theatres. [1] [ full citation needed] Later on, Flatley soon began thinking of rhythm patterns and steps for an a cappella number. This number would later become "Planet Ireland", the show's finale. The show took six months to bring from conception to stage. Auditions were held in the SFX City Theatre in Dublin.

The Lord of the dance needs to protect his people against Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord. It's a dangerous task for The Little Spirit, who travels through time to help the Lord keep his people safe. As the dark power challenges our hero, this epic traditional Irish folk tale draws you into a compelling, unforgettable and truly spellbinding mythical universe. In 2014, Flatley created Dangerous Games, a revised spinoff of Lord of the Dance. While maintaining 50% of the numbers from the original show, new numbers were introduced, featuring dancing robots, new songs, new music by Gerard Fahey, and rescores of Ronan Hardiman's pieces. Choreographed and directed by Michael Flatley, 40 of the world’s most outstanding young dancers and musicians take to the stage delivering electrifying performances that bring audiences to their feet night after night. In April 2010, he announced [ clarification needed] that he would be returning to headline the Lord of the Dance show, with performances in Dublin's The O 2, Belfast's Odyssey Arena, London's O 2 arena, Sheffield's Sheffield Arena, Manchester's MEN Arena, Birmingham's LG Arena, Nottingham's Trent FM Arena, Liverpool's Echo Arena, London's Wembley Arena, Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena in November 2010, with dates also announced in Germany, Switzerland & Austria, the first time he will have done so since 1998. After all, he exploded onto the Eurovision dance floor in Dublin in 1996 with his version of traditional dancing that blew everyone away.Michael: “It is my last performance! And what a great place here for me! I have always loved the West End since I was a little boy. I have had a place in London since 1996…it is now an honour to bring new young people, young stars to the stage. They have unbelievable talent and the world needs to see it. I am delighted to bring it to the London Palladium.” Q: What has been your career high? With all the visceral precision and thrills of the original, Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games features new staging, new costumes and mesmerising new choreography.
