About this deal

Wanting to ride on the very top of my hoods in an out-of-the-saddle position proved a bit challenging however. The openings of the Bar Mitts don’t extend far enough forward that I can comfortably ride on the top of the hoods. But this is largely due to my choice of a size Small mitten. There’s no cheaper way to insulate your hands in cold weather. With a pair of half-decent winter gloves and muffs over the top, you should be OK in even the coldest weather.

Bar Mitts Products – Bar Mitts

Riders are capable of staying warm even in -30° weather if they want to enjoy all the benefits of riding in the snow. When the hands are inside these mittens, it does not affect a person at all. The solution to fitting a variety of different mirrors works pretty well, though this cover is only suitable for handlebar-type mirrors. As temperatures drop, cyclists start adding layer after layer to stay warm while pedaling, and keeping your fingers and hands warm with the right pair of gloves is a huge part of that equation. The hole for the mirrors must be cross-cut using a craft knife by the consumer, who then screws a washer down on top of the cut as they install the mirror. The mittens remain upright and open so you can slide your hands in and out of them, and have space to shift and brake.

Frequently Asked Questions About Winter Cycling Gloves Why do I need cycling-specific winter gloves? Are they as durable as some of the more expensive options out there? Probably not, but they can get away with a little bit more considering the price. Extremities are the first parts of the body to get cold on a mid-winter fat bike ride and the last to warm up. As they say, the best defense is a good offense, and the easiest way to combat cold-fingered misery is to keep your fingers from getting cold in the first place. Enter the Extreme Cold Mountain Mitts pogies from Bar Mitts.Cold weather, waterproof and windproof handlebar mittens to keep hands warm and comfortable in the cold, rain, snow and wind. However, if I wasn’t using electronic shifting, I don’t think the smalls would have enough space for a full shift lever movement. And, as I encountered, the smaller opening does restrict my movement a little bit. I tried the larger mitts and they do indeed offer more freedom of movement but also take up more space, let in a bit more air and are all around bulkier. As the cheapest option of them all in this article, some people will benefit from these bike mitts to use for any type of bike out there. That’s right, sometimes it just gets cold enough that your hands need a little extra help staying warm, and for that, we turn to gloves that provide their own heat. We’ve known riders brave enough to wear these 100% wind- and waterproof cycling gloves in temps as low as -40 and return with still-functioning fingers.
