About this deal

Fallen Heir focus solely on Easton and Heartlys relationship, which disappoints me, because I really wanted to se Easton evolve as a character- and not just the cliché "changed for the right girl". The book is also fairly repetitive with Easton stating "he doesn’t hurt anyone" and later realizing everything he does hurts someone- over, and over, and over again.. Does this mean he change his behavior you might ask? No. While this was the conclusion of the Royal series, I felt like there was SO MUCH LEFT UNEXPLAINED. Like, what was up with the twins?! They acted super weird and it was only glossed over and never fully explained. A secret about Easton was just tossed out there with no real reaction. And the ending felt super rushed and thrown out there to create some tension and a conclusion. I just told you I don’t want the attention and you tried to kiss me in front of the whole school! But you don’t care what anyone else wants, right, Easton? Only what you want matters, because you’re a Royal, remember?”

Well, I don't know what to say. I wasn't really a fan of the previous book, especially because I never found a way how to like Hartley. But the HUGE cliffhanger forced me to read this book asap. Well, after finishing my review, I feel like I'm even generous with my rating. Funny thing that I always realize how angry a book made me only when I write the review. Ella is mostly similar to her mother in appearance, which made it easy to pass for her, such as height and similar facial features. Her eyes, like her father's, were described as a bluish-gray that resembled the Reed of the Atlantic ocean. Ella has natural golden hair. But if she's going to survive in the Royal palace, she'll need to start issuing her own Royal decrees . . . So, I ranted for a while now, and I said nothing about the girl; Easton's love interest. I think that says something.Reed seems determined to keep Ella from settling comfortably into her new charmed life amongst the rich kids of Malibu. But what is Reed hiding? Ella is just as determined to come through it all with her soul intact. What I'm saying is for most of the book, about 70% of it, we get the same Easton-Hartley interaction which basically goes like this: Easton pursues, Hartley demurs and then acquiesce. Easton then does something stupid and Hartley gets hurt and pulls away. Easton gets wasted and does something even more idiotic things. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. I’m still as good looking as ever. Charming and hilarious. My body could be on the cover of a magazine, partly thanks to good genes, but I work on it, too, lifting and football. Nah, I haven’t lost it. Ella, who has lost her family, relies only on herself since childhood. She is strong and purposeful, used to achieving everything herself. Ella's character is very complex, the girl has been used to independence since the age of fifteen, having lost the closest person-her mother. She earned her own living by working at night and attending school in the morning. No one around her even knew that Ella had been orphaned until Mr. Royal arrived with the guardianship papers. Which is why it was a bloody bad time to read about high school shenanigans, immature spoilt brats and petty squabbles that turn into decisions that ruin lives. What was exciting and riveting reading with Paper Princess, was frustrating and disappointing in Fallen Heir. Easton is one messed up kid who needs to be disciplined and better monitored. His answer to all of his mess ups is throw money at the problem. He regrets each and every one of his mistakes but never learns or grows from them.

I’ve waited so long for this book. I have binged and loved my Royals from day one. I have been committed to Erin Watt as they took their time writing the perfect book for us. But I don’t know what happened. I honestly don’t, it’s completely baffling to me how this is the final product. But here? No! Really, Easton is bragging and whining how he's always left behind, etc. but honestly? He's just mean and almost bully-ish! Chelli: Just started it!! It has a very Fallen Crest feel to it and I loved loved loved that series Three. The Easton-Ella dynamic. Boy, this one...I knew a few chapters in that something is up and I have my suspicions (which was proven to be right, by the way!) but I just like the way Erin Watt slowly unraveled that thread. It played out perfectly. And nope, I won't spoil it for you. You have to read the book yourself. Trust me. It's worth it. As for Easton. In the last book, I was really angry about his behavior towards Ella. And to be honest several times in this book it was even worse than in the previous one. As well as his behavior altogether. He made no sense at all. He was just making things worse on purpose and then trying to excuse himself. I put off reading this book for so long (well, at least for me), because I did not want one of my favorite series to end. I couldn't wait to read more about Easton's story and watch everything come together in the end.

Tiny little thing I didn't love ... I know it was all so very last minute with the release of the book. They had to get it done fast, but another proof-reader wouldn't have hurt. There are lots of typos and some scenes where stuff is just wrong - continuity they call it on the screen. Like one moment a guy wears only underpants and the next moment the girl takes off his jeans. Now Ella has to learn to survive her new prep school, the wrath of the Royal boys, the deception around her and not fall for the ruthless of them all- Reed. My Paper Princess Review:Dive into The Royals series by Erin Watt and get swept away in this epic, young adult romance book series. At the Royal mansion, Ella meets four of Callum’s sons: Reed, Easton, Sebastian, and Sawyer. The eldest son, Gideon, is not there, although his presence is still felt at home and at school, where he remains the Royals’ leader in spirit. The boys are poorly behaved. They treat their own father with insolence and are openly hostile to Ella’s presence. The boys even walk away when Callum introduces her, although Ella feels an instant attraction to Reed. Ella learns that their mother, Maria, died under mysterious circumstances and many believe that Callum murdered her.
