About this deal

Rosemary, being a kind little girl, would never want to force Carbonel against his will, so the two set out to release him from the spell.

I finally found a complete copy in, of all places, our own garage, in a box of my dead grandfather's stuff. Carbonel has been said to have few real cat characteristics: he is more like Edith Nesbit's Psammead in Five Children and It (1902), speaking "with the voice of tart and faintly impatient adulthood". The individual episodes fit neatly into the daily life of Rosemary and her mother, and the contrast between the two children’s lives is handled very nicely, with each learning from the other. Carbonel is a children's book series by Barbara Sleigh, first published by Puffin Books from 1955 to 1978.

Dispatched in cardboard mailers within 24/48 Hours Mon - Friday 2pm, except bank holidays, otherwise next business day - excellent service guaranteed. Of course, neither the cat nor the broomstick were just what they seemed, and they turned up just when Rosemary badly needed something nice to happen to her. For one, John and Rosemary forget about Carbonel throughout the rest of the year; presumably, magic makes them forget, but it's incredibly sad for them to have these amazing adventures and remember almost nothing.

An old fashioned world even at the time of writing, if you like cats, magic and children solving a puzzle in a quiet country town you will like it. It's only when touching the broom that they can hear Carbonel talk, and if she can make up a rhyme the broom will fly! As an aspiring children's author, I'm delighted that titles for kids are getting more prominence and more marketing budget, but less delighted with the number of times people have said "So you're going to be the next J. This garment is made of recycled polyester, which allows to reduce its environmental impact and take part in a broader approach to resource conservation.I'd never heard of this until I spotted it randomly and picked it up, intrigued by the lovely cover illustration of a little girl on a flying broom with a black cat, I am after all a sucker for a cat. The black cat “Carbonel” in this novel is, as the title says, a royal cat, but the story first focuses on our young protagonist, the ten year old Rosemary Brown. Incidentally, “sides to middling” for those who are baffled by the term, is a way of prolonging the life of sheets of very fine quality such as linen.

I always dreaded other kids coming over and invariably put out when my ideas weren't to their taste.Rosemary, together with a new friend John, have to learn a little witchcraft themselves before tracking down Mrs Cantrip to obtain her at best ambivalent help.
