About this deal

The Mizuno RB Tour was launched in 2019 and resulted from years of innovation, design, and development. We found the solution through aerodynamics – which allows us to maintain the feel and greenside control better players prefer.” The Mizuno RB Tour is manufactured in Vietnam by Fang Tey, the same factory that produced Nike’s RZN balls. The company continues to produce RZN balls under the RZN Golf brand. Mizuno RB Tour – Compression Mizuno wanted to perfect a high-performance tour ball that was capable of working well in windy conditions before they introduced their balls to the U.S. market. They achieved this with the RB Tour and RB Tour X. Continuing in this spirit, I have been busy putting Mizuno’s golf balls to the test to find out more about them and to see if they are a worthwhile contender for ever-popular brands such as the Titleist Pro V1 or the increasingly popular Maxfli Golf Balls.

As the RB Tour is designed for use in windy conditions, it was interesting to put this claim to the test to see if it meets expectations after years of development. This tour caliber ball is ideal for advanced players and delivers premium features at a reasonable price, making it a winning choice. Mizuno RB Tour  – Inspection

Whether you prefer a hard or soft feel ball is a matter of personal taste, but if a soft ball with low compression is your preference, you will find the RB 566 ball ideal.

The RB 566 and the RB 566 V both have a 566 dimple design to prolong the ball’s flight and delay the ball’s rate of descent after it has past the apex of its flight. The dual-core is like a Tootsie Pop: a soft and chewy inner core and a firm and crunchy outer core. The combo is designed to provide a soft feel with fast ball speeds. Again, the ball speeds won’t be as fast as a firm tour-level ball but that’s not what Mizuno is after. Extensive testing and development have meant that Mizuno was able to immediately enter the market with a choice of high-performance, quality golf balls that are able to shake up the competition and disrupt the status quo. So, whether you want to improve the trajectory of your ball in windy conditions or you want the ball to cut through the air with ease Mizuno golf balls can help. The Mizuno RB 566 may cost a lot less than comparable golf balls by some leading brands, but it certainly matches them on performance. The RB566 is Mizuno’s softest compression ball to date; now, add into the mix the 566 micro-dimple design, which is aimed at helping to delay the ball’s rate of descent past the apex of the flight, and you’ll end up with a distance eater. The soft compression core in the RB566 is also larger than ever before, and this translates into a straighter and more stable ball flight. Moreover, the RB566 has a ionomer cover, that provides durability and excellent green-side feel, being aimed at golfers with slower/mid swing speeds, and it’s especially well-suited for warm conditions. If the weather is cold, or the ground soft, you can play the RB566 regardless of your swing speed.

With a softer ball, feel is a priority and aerodynamics become key to maintaining distance,” says Mizuno USA R&D Director David Llewellyn. To that end, the new RB566 (for 566 dimples) features an interesting Dual Dimple design surrounded by what Mizuno calls Micro Dimples. We found some degree of core centeredness and or layer concentricity issue in roughly two-thirds of the balls in our sample.
