About this deal
And the thing with the dad was so annoying. I’m glad the author didn’t make the mum the villain as well, I liked her redemption arc. exhibit one: “Better not. We can’t afford to get in trouble this late in the game. It’s zero tolerance here, baby.” I give her breast a gentle squeeze and a whimper escapes her.”
Lancaster Prep Series 3 Books Collection Set (Things I Wanted
Tis the season and things are a little stressful for our fave couple. There’s a lot going on in their lives, and Wren is feeling out of sorts. West doesn’t make my time here easy. He’s arrogant. Crude. Insufferable. He torments me in the worst way, to the point that I can’t stand him. Yet he’s the only boy I’ve ever let touch me… i don’t even know when to stop pointing out the red flags bc this whole book is little red riding hood. let’s stop romanticizing toxic relationships (and books) in 2023. anyone who knows me, knows i absolutely hate insta-lust. but here? i literally did not care. they didn't even have sex until like the 60-70% mark, and the build-up to it was perfect. they explored each other thoroughly instead of jumping straight to sex which i appreciated and showed how patient and thoughtful crew was. Not the author trying to redeem Crew by having him threaten to end a girl’s life for the same terrible behavior he partakes in 🤡.
it's a coming-of-age story, especially for our girl wren, who throughout this book goes on a journey of liberating herself sexually and breaking out of the box she has put herself in her whole life, and the boy, crew, who helps her accept herself. CONS: I wasn't particularly comfortable about the ring scene. I won't go into much detail but I feel like he initially treated it as a trophy and I wasn't a fan of that. However, his later dialogue (at least, for me) made up for it. Includes never-before-seen bonus material, including a steamy and sweet scene of Crew and Wren celebrating Valentine's Day at Lancaster Prep.**
A Million Kisses In Your Lifetime by Monica Murphy - Waterstones
threw her a new years birthday party (her dream was to have this party, but she didn't want to as she thought everyone hates her and fakes being her friend) the things that crew does for wren 🥰 i almost wish they had a massive argument, because i know crew would deliver the best grovel. wren’s entire personality is being a virgin. she is a high school girl who is infantilized by everyone around her, and the author intentionally slut shames every other girl to get this point across.wren thought she would wait until marriage, but she starts to explore her own body and watches porn, all because crew intrigues her. i liked the slowness of this book, it allowed us to see how they progressed from kissing to touching to them falling deeply for each other. like i said there is no major plot for the characters, the major "conflict" point is wren's overprotective dad, who did not approve of their relationship.
