About this deal

Holding the record in your hands, you can immediately sense the craftsmanship and love put into this release.

They didn't press more US vinyl copies for several years (there were just the original ~5,000 floating around), but when they did start re-pressing vinyl copies years later, they kept "New York City Cops" and used the same catalog number/bar code as the 2001 vinyl version. Among the many highlights are Last Nite with its insistent motown backbeat and choppy johnny thunders-like guitar solo, Barely Legal, sounding like 1980s-era Cure fronted by a saucy Iggy Pop, and the jangly Someday with its hairshirt of vulnerability from a bad break-up. The guitars have a satisfying crunch, the drums punch through with intensity, and Julian Casablancas' iconic vocals take center stage in a way that feels raw and unfiltered. It’s not entirely clear right now if release is a German territory exclusive, but it looks that way (I can’t find any listings for this elsewhere). Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.

Although the band's catchy guitars and garage-rock leanings made this album an instant classic, its provocative cover was arguably just as impactful. Arriving on a wave of well-earned hype rooted in tight chops and a confident swagger, the Strokes offer a rock and roll antidote to the plague of boy bands, teen divas, and petulant rap-rock outfits. This version doesn't have "When It Started" like the VMP pressing, but that is the weakest song on the album IMO. The RCA Records label is a unit of BMG Entertainment TMK(S) ® registered | Marcas registrada(s) [RCA logo] ® General Electric Co.

If someone out there has vinyl copies of the original and later pressings, there are probably subtle runout variations that could differentiate the pressings. The band consists of lead vocalist Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr.This was the first vinyl I ever bought alongside Room on Fire at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame during a trip in 2010. Now, in this limited edition vinyl release, listeners have the opportunity to experience the magic of the album in its purest form.

The Strokes" owe more to "Joy Division" or "The Velvet Underground", than they do to either of the afforementioned (not to say massively over-rated) bands. Please note that specific regulations and details may vary based on your location and the applicable laws. The record is a heavy version 150-180 grams I guess, and the front cover has a sticker with black background and "The Strokes" in white letters and "Is This It" in red.We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. SUCH a great album I think the "Haves" are severely bloated because they unfortunately made the reissue matrix number so similar. The remastering for this release is superb, delivering a balanced soundstage that allows each instrument to shine while maintaining the album's signature lo-fi charm.
