Even from the beginning it was clear he was trying his best to create distance between himself and jade for her safety. We had haters to lovers and enemies to lovers, we had court politics and royal bickering, we had siblings we could or couldn't trust, we had typical Fae behavior and we had a human heroine who was exactly the right mix of strong, fierce and healthily afraid. The cast is led by Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts, who gives an incredible performance as the mother who is struggling to keep her family together. For Tucker, "there's no novelty or freshness in House of Lies' patter or its penis-placement" (the latter comment being a reference to House of Lies' "butt-load of the sort of sexual activity one can get away with on pay-cable").

Good intrigue, moves at a fast pace which sometimes a little too fast which I felt lost a little bit of lore and magic that could have been embedded Into the story. Her fate was decided years ago, when her useless father made a deal with the greedy fae king to save his own life. As the story opens, we meet Arian, a young fae woman who has been living among humans in an attempt to escape the turmoil in her own realm.
