Some of these amazing box sets have crammed in as much content as possible, from multiple cuts of the same film to hours upon hours of behind-the-scenes documentaries and materials. Whether it's a horror, sci-fi, or action franchise, there's a box set for fans of every genre, and they make for great conversation starters. But what are the very best Blu-ray box sets available today? Die Hard is one of the most revolutionary action franchises of all time, and the five films got the collector's edition treatment, complete with a miniature replica of the Nakatomi Plaza from the first film. On top of that, all five movies' unrated cuts have been restored and remastered to the best quality possible.With the first saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe over and another one already in full swing, it makes sense that Disney would want to further capitalize on the highest-grossing franchise of all time. Together, all twenty-three movies of the Infinity Saga form a decorative banner, featuring Marvel heroes standing in front of Thanos. That didn’t happen with The Philosopher’s Stone, as it plays out just like the book, albeit with a few bits left out for time. It’s fragmentary, with very much a chaptered feel, and with not everything essential to the plot. But what it does do is that it introduces the characters, and it sets up the world, it comfortably eases in the fans of the book, with an experience that is familiar and relatable, and you have to remember that those fans would have been mostly aged between 8-13 at the time, where such radical diversions as directorial style, editorial wizardry, and character discovery would have been distractions, not something to be appreciated. The Philosopher’s Stone is a workmanlike movie that does what it sets out to and nothing more. This box set is perhaps the ultimate gift for Harry Potter fans, to this day. It's a sprawling 31-disc compilation of every Harry Potter film in Blu-ray, as well as DVD format and digital copy. This gives fans a lot of options when it comes to enjoying these films all over again. The Goblet of Fire is entertaining, and certainly exciting. It has a good pace to it, and enthusiastic performances from its main cast, who are really getting the hang of this acting thing by now. This fourth year of the Harry Potter cycle is when teenagers start being obnoxious to each other, on top of becoming painfully thin-skinned, and that is reflected in where the characters are. But despite all of the action, the pace, the better than ever special effects, there’s something pedestrian about Goblet of Fire. It may be a speed-walking pedestrian, but it’s still a matter of getting from A to B, hitting all the right points in between, and there’s very little room for cinematic flourish, very little that distinguishes the Goblet of Fire from a straight up adaptation, and it doesn’t feel like a movie in the way that Prisoner of Azkaban did.
Year 7 - Part 2: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 - In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort.
