About this deal

LEGO® minifigures for roleplay – Clone Commander with a blaster pistol and 2 Clone Troopers, each with a blaster rifle. This 66-piece building toy is for ages 6 and up The builds themselves are fine, though I wouldn’t recommend running out to buy the set just for them. It seems that the LEGO Group is actually listening to builders in some capacity and giving us what we want, which in this case is the Clone Troopers. It would have been amazing to see three of the standard white versions inclusions, though I am sure some will appreciate being able to get the Clone Commander at an affordable price point. Its contents are great and wonderfully effective for really how simple they are, but there’s no getting around the fact that 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station represents yet another step down in value for LEGO Star Wars as a theme. Every few years this happens, it always stings, and the compromise always feels like it’s on the consumer’s side.

Republic Gunship introduced an updated Clone Trooper Commander, distinguished from standard Clone Troopers by their flame yellowish orange armour highlights. This design closely resembles the onscreen character and features accurate spots on the torso, while the visor is surrounded by matching decoration. In either case, plain white clone or the yellow-clad commander, both of the trooper variants in the set have some really great printing. It’s always nice to see details carried over to the legs, and this assortment Republic garrison certainly delivers on that front. It's kind of always been that way though, right? Growing up in the 80s, we couldn't afford much LEGO. I had a few small sets and maybe one "big" (250+ piece) one. Whereas my "friend" (I never really liked him, heh) whose mom was a doctor and whose dad was a lawyer had a room full of LEGO sets. It's always been sort of an upper-middle class status brand, at least in my experience." Liberal use of control consoles further distinguishes this creation from its predecessor, as two additional 1x2 slopes are placed alongside two printed 1x2 tiles inside. Once again, I think the green-tinted consoles seem out of place, but few alternatives are available. The communication equipment looks perfect though, while the access ramps are adjustable for different terrains.

Clone Troopers provide inherent army-building potential and 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station satisfies that potential to some extent, although perhaps not completely. An opportunity to collect standard Clone Troopers is fantastic and the minifigures are appealing, but introducing a more accurate torso would have elevated their charm further. Everything will be going up in price in 2022. I have a feeling the same conversation happening in this comments section will be happening in many, many more comments sections to come." Clone Trooper Command Station contains three Clone Trooper minifigures and a neat collection of accessories that just speak to any LEGO Star Wars fan’s heart. One copy of this set is costly, but great for what it is and just about justifiable. The command centre has previously appeared in 75000 Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas and the newer example is even smaller than its predecessor, as demonstrated below. However, the aforementioned shape is arguably improved and the play value remains consistent as well, since the design from 2013 also provided room for one minifigure. This LEGO Star Wars Clone Trooper Command Station (40558) lets kids ages 6 and up create their own exciting action setpieces with the Clone Troopers. The command station features flip-up ramps and a stand for 2 blaster rifles to let kids visualise various unique scenarios within the beloved sci-fi universe. The 3 LEGO mini-figures - a Clone Commander and 2 Clone Troopers - invite exciting role-playing opportunities with their unique equipment. The Clone Commander has a blaster pistol and the two Clone Troopers are each equipped with a now-iconic blaster rifle that many fans will surely recognise at a glance. Take It Anywhere

I’ve gotten to the point where I find LEGO is rarely worth it anymore. I hate how they act more like a luxury brand than a toy. I appreciate the inclusion of a Sargent! I was worried he would be only in the UCS Gunship, so it’s nice that there is a cheaper way to get him. More shinies is also always nice! What should have been a great army-builder, though, is nothing of the sort due to the high price and the poor overall choice of minifigures. And for that, 40558 Clone Trooper Command Station feels like a missed opportunity more than something innovative. Clone Trooper Command Station is all about the three minifigures included –two regular clones and one Clone Commander. The two ‘regs’ are where the value and collectibility of this set are most keenly felt, and both feature the kind of detail and design we have come to expect from such multipliable characters. However, the equivalent minifigure from 75019 AT-TE included a metallic silver visor, which appears more faithful to the movie. I would also question supplying a commander rather than another officer, since collecting several of these minifigures is perhaps less useful than a Clone Trooper sergeant or captain, which populate the Grand Army of the Republic in much greater numbers.I don't think LEGO has ever been cheap, but I remember there was a time where it didn't feel like LEGO wanted to draw attention to the fact that it wasn't cheap. Like it was expensive, sure, but the price was more nature of the business rather than like someone calculated how to squeeze as much from a customer as possible.
