About this deal

It's a lighter read when you're not in the mood for anything dark but it also touches on some important topics such as losing parents, cancer, and infertility. Information on our mental health projects for children and young people through our Glow programmes. But everything falls apart, and before she knows it, Penny is living a new life and meeting two new men. When I received Love Square via Netgalley from HarperCollins (thank you, as always), I was super excited. But a change in circumstances sees her stepping into a new life in a new town, where the last thing she expects is to meet a remarkable man.

I had an impression that this would be a fun and quick read, but it has it's layers, and they're pulled off in an okay manner.I found it difficult to connect with the characters which left me feeling less than motivated to pick the book up. In Idiots by FloraOne Mamoru pines over Usagi for years while Usagi pines over Tuxedo Mask for years. Based on the first half of this book, it could have been a new favorite, but between a handful of tasteless jokes and all hell breaking loose in the worst way during the second half, this left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Apart from that, though, I loved her interactions with friends such as Charlie, Sharon, and her lovely sister Clementine, with whom she seems to have an amazing relationship. In Derbyshire, Penny meets Thomas and Priyesh who are nothing like the men she would normally find herself drawn to. Although I did feel the confrontation or resolution scene in the bar was, for me personally, a little far-fetched. That old adage about buses comes to mind with this story; Penny waits ages for the right man to come along and then suddenly finds herself with three potential boyfriends – typical! It is obvious who Penny should make a future with and I feel the author could have either surprised the reader more at the end or, simply reduced the length of the story. Love Per Square Foot review: This Netflix film feels like a breezy Bombay version of YRF's Band Baaja Baaraat". Many issues are running through Penny’s story and this adds depth to something I anticipated being a funny example of women’s fiction. The genre indicated as LGBT, but it was not with the main character as I thought, but with supporting characters. Instead of having other love interests that were only there just to be annoying, I would've liked it more if the story focused on Penny's infertility, and on her personal growth — without tying it to her need to be in a relationship.
