About this deal

What: One of the biggest Easter eggs we’ve ever laid eyes on, this whopper from Kent-based chocolatier Cocoba weighs in at a weighty four kilograms. Gather together a few hungry mates to polish it off. What: This child-friendly treat-filled calendar gives you change from a tenner while also making sure you get a proper chocolate hit. Hiding behind each door is a sweet little milk chocolate shape which will keep you guessing day to day, and you can get the Christmas Eve choc personalised with a name on it. If you've got a big brood, Thorntons often does special offers on multiple calendars, so make sure to keep an eye out in the run up to Christmas. What: Can’t choose between milk chocolate and dark chocolate? Choose both with Chococo’s giant half and half treat, which weighs in at a solid half kilo of handcrafted chocolate heaven, including handmade chocolates inside. What: Not only is HAPPi's advent calendar vegan and gluten-free, it's also plastic-free, making it the perfect gift for your eco-conscious friend, child or sibling! Having sampled HAPPi's oat milk-based chocolate, we're more than happy eating this 24 days in a row - we'd even continue eating it well into next year if you give us the chance. What: It’s a hot cross bun, but not as you know it. This tasty treat swaps your classic bun for chocolate and more chocolate, but the chocolate is spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and the like, and loaded with raisins and orange jelly pieces.

Buy now: Harvey Nichols Dark Chocolate Praline-Filled 1kg Easter Egg Chococo Giant Half and Half Egg What:Ombar’s favourite Coco Mylk bars are now featured in their own dedicated calendar. Don’t worry Oat M’lk fans, the original oat milk advent calendar is still available. This calendar, however, includes the original soft-centred coconut milk bars filled with hazelnut truffle, pistachio, and raspberry. Each window also gives a little fact on how to have an eco-friendly Christmas. Now that's some food for thought. Toss them around. Toss the pralines in different ingredients to coat them. Try cinnamon, cocoa powder, or chili powder. What: This little choclate factory in Wales makes all their bougie chocolates by hand, and at a very reasonable price too. These advent chocs with a difference include flavours likeraspberry cream in dark chocolate, spiced milk praline, christmas pudding, and lemon sherbet in white chocolate.'Nadolig Llawen' (merry Christmas) indeed!

What:Dairy Milk is Christmas for so many of us, and December wouldn't be the same without a little morsel of Dairy Milk chocolate every morning. Windows (or doors) in a neat grid, with a little chunk of British chocolate (owned by Americans now but whatever) behind each one. There's no messing with a classic. And at just over a couple of quid, it's perfect if you want something cheap and cheerful to mark the Christmas countdown. What: Daylesford Organic’s gorgeous golden egg is made from sustainably sourced Peruvian cacao, and features a dark chocolate shell stuffed with smooth hazelnut truffle. The egg cup itself is whittled from walnut, so you can keep that for boiled eggs and soldiers in the morning. Use the right equipment. Using a candy thermometer is the best way to know if your caramel is ready. If not, they might end up being too soft or chewy, or too hard. Prepare your baking sheet. You want to have a baking sheet ready to go. This way you can pour the mixture right when it reaches the correct temperature. Line it with aluminum foil, parchment paper, or a silicone baking mat.

What: Another beloved Swiss chocolatier, Laderach is best known for slabs of nuttyFrischSchoggi, which is also available in bunny shapes this Easter. If you're keeping things a bit more classic, go for this handsome Easter Bunny in Laderach's delicious milk chocolate (but also available in lots of other flavours and combos). What: There are few Easter treats more iconic than the Lindt bunny. But this is no ordinary bunny. This one-kilo gold rabbit is pretty much life-sized and comes in its own box with a strap for carrying, presumably so you carry it with you and eat bits of it throughout the day.Don’t stir! Stirring during the boiling period will cause the sugar to seize up. Resist the urge and just leave it alone. What: It’s that smooth, delicious Lindt chocolate you know and love, but with a blood orange twist. This tasty LINDOR variant is new for 2023 and comes with a bunch of those absolutely sensational truffles inside - Easter isn’t complete without a few Lindt truffles is it? What: Chocolate orange fans, this one's for you - Selfridges’ egg mixes single origin dark chocolate with zesty orange chocolate, and it looks pretty smart too. There are two other delicious flavours available too - a praline and a tasty malted blonde version. Looking for this year's best Easter eggs? You've come to the right place. If you have someone in your life that says Easter eggs are ‘just for kids’, we recommend cutting them out immediately. While it is true that the Easter Bunny rudely only chooses to visit the younger half of the population, grown-ups can still get their chocolate fix by snapping up an Easter egg for themselves. Buy now: Selfridges Single Original Praline Easter Egg Daylesford Organic Raw Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle Egg

What: Venchi’s Cremino range has long been one of its most popular and it’s easy to see why when you taste the eggs. An outer layer of gianduja - made with Piedmontese hazelnuts - surrounds an inner core of white chocolate and hazelnut paste. A unique Easter treat that anyone would be very happy to receive. You don’t need to refrigerate them at all. These make great gifts because you can ship them and they’ll be just fine.

What: This one is a little more unconventional, but why not try something new this Christmas? Lakrids are alittle-known Danish confectionary and a firm favourite of liquorice lovers. The calendar includes 24 chocolate-coated gourmet liquorice balls in a variety of flavours including cookie butter and salted caramel. Layers of not-too-sweet chocolate complement herbal liquorice cores will make the lead-up to Christmas day that much more exciting. What: We’re slightly cheating on this one, as it only contains one box of hot chocolate among 25 luxurious F&M treats, but we couldn’t help ourselves – just look at it! As well as Fortnum & Mason’s mini milk hot chocolate box, this whopper of an advent calendar (that definitely also belongs under the ‘luxury’ category below) contains everything you could want over the festive season, from tea and coffee to chocolate, biscuits, preserves, condiments and alcohol. Merry Christmas indeed. Bring the mixture to a boil. Let the mixture come to a boil and leave it undisturbed. Don’t stir or mix once you reach this point.

Now we know deep down that chocolate shouldn’t really be part of your breakfast, but that adds to the indulgence of it all, and arguably the small bite-sized squares you get in an advent calendar taste even better than a full-sized bar as a result. The issue comes when making the decision as to which one, or in our case how many, you’re going to commit to buying this year, with so many different options on offer. What: A typically beautiful advent box from Brussels-based chocolatier Pierre Marcolini. Inside you’ll find the full spectrum of Marcolini creations all individually wrapped like presents, from pralines and caramels to luxurious truffles. With more and more of us turning to veganism and looking to reduce our dairy intake, vegan chocolate is booming, and there are some fantastic vegan chocolate offerings out there nowadays. Thankfully, going vegan doesn't mean you have to miss out on the advent calendar fun! H!P Oat Milk Chocolate Advent Calendar What: We love Chococo’s handmade chocolates, and the Dorset chocolatiers really outdo themselves at Easter with a huge range of great eggs. This Easter bunny makes a great gift and it's not going to break the bank either. Thornton's will personalise eggs for you in-store as well, which is a nice touch. Buy extra. Chococo eggs are always beautifully finished as well, making this a lovely gift for a vegan pal, if you can manage not to eat it before you give it away. What: The title of this egg isn’t hyperbole, as it’s the size of an actual ostrich egg. The shell is made of milk chocolate that has been filled with crunchy cookie pieces and puffed rice, while the egg also comes with a tray of 20 chocs, meaning the whole thing amounts to over 1kg of chocolate. Just the right amount for one we think.
