About this deal

The new sections are now product driven, so if you are looking for a Strawberry Jam and not sure of the brand you will be able to discover we have over 40 different types, to suit your taste and size requirement.

Whilst we liked the idea of the Christmas bingo game, we felt the Tesco crackers were very expensive and fiddly. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Wm Morrisons Supermarkets Limited prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. Morrisons has also removed all plastic toys from its Christmas crackers, which will be completely plastic-free this year. THE most expensive tested, so I was pleased to find better quality goods inside these pretty silver crackers, as well as a cardboard crown. There’s a Belgium chocolate mini penguin or snowman inside each cracker and they are gluten free, but don’t bother looking for a hat, joke or even a snap.Peter Kimpton, the amateur historian who judged the appearance of the modern offerings, said that crackers, pioneered by the London confectioner Tom Smith from about 1847, represented a rare triumph of inventiveness. Now they are part of the nation's Christmas tradition, creating fun for all ages – even if some of the jokes are terrible. Pets don’t need to miss out on the big day itself either, as the range boasts all of the ingredients needed for a paw-sitively delicious pooch Christmas dinner. The other thing that was good was the fact that everything in the box was 100 percent plastic free and recyclable, including the box and the game. This means that we’re now 100 per cent glitter free across all our own brand ranges which is an important step in the fight against plastic pollution. Some of the trinkets are on disappointing, especially the bookmark which looked made from a piece of a cut-up cereal packet. Who would have thought that a simple combination of saltine crackers, butter, and brown sugar and chocolate chips could create such a delicious dessert? I liked the fact it involved no setting up and there weren't any plastic parts that end up hanging around for months after (you know those unusable key rings, paper clips and mini egg timers that you can't part with and just gather dust? You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Harrods’ flaws, compared to Morrisons, apparently were a muffled bang, only 78 decibels, and flimsy hat. Costing just 50p per cracker, it packs an ear-splitting bang, "classic" hats and toys and a joke so "funny" that Nicholas Parsons, the venerable host of Radio 4's Just a Minute, is now threatening to use it in public: "Dad, there is a man at the door collecting for the new swimming pool. The glitter-free treats contain a well-made gold hat and top gifts that range from a clothing brush and measuring cup to lipstick holder and wine pourer.

The Morrisons cracker, by contrast, had the 81-decibel bang to wake even the doziest Christmas diner. The chips I used weren’t as salty as I would’ve liked so I added extra after setting but would be better to add it whilst the chocolate is still melted. These crackers had a lovely 12 Days of Christmas design with lords leaping, pipers piping and ladies dancing.

They included a tape measure, cookie cutter, pencils, marbles, nail clippers and the obligatory metal puzzle, (which I’m not sure anybody actually does). Whether you enjoy it year-round or dress it up with festive sprinkles for the holidays, Christmas Crack is sure to steal the spotlight on your cookie plate!

These are ideal for families of all ages, particularly primary schoolchildren and grandparents as they can happily sit and do the puzzles together whilst parents are running around serving up the Christmas dinner. Cheerful-looking, festive crackers, but they seem to contain the same novelty gifts and jokes as the brands from Lidl and Dobbies . I expect those of you who are Christmas Cracker aficionados already read the article in the Sunday Telegraph about the panel of experts’ ratings of this year’s cracker offerings.
