About this deal

These are not interchangeable, as one pushes into the front-end section of the pen and the other screws into a threaded section of the front end of the pen. The refills are all fitted to Selectip pens in exactly the same way as they are all the same size; they just contain different ink formulations and have different tips.

Compatible with Coles, Conklin, Diplomat, Faber-Castell, Graf von Faber-Castell, Hugo Boss, Kaweco, Laban, Lexon, Montegrappa, Ohto, Online, Otto Hutt, Parker, Pelikan, some Sheaffer ranges, USUS and Visconti. Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. This type of ink is very smooth flowing and glides more easily across the paper than traditional ballpoint pen inks. When I started looking for a substitute, I also tried the Pilot and Uni refills I had on hand, as well as standard ISO sized rollerball refills, and every one was too fat to fit into the barrel.

Neither classic nor slim refill versions fit - both are right length but are too wide at the nib tip and cannot pass through the end section of the pen. My deep-rooted passion for pens and pencils led me to become a part-time blogger, where I've dedicated myself to sharing the wealth of knowledge I've amassed over the years. Unfortunately, if you try to force an incorrect refill in your pen, you may cause irreparable damage.Medium writing point refills are the standard for this type and most pens will be fitted with this writing point width at purchase. Simply remove the cap of the pen, unscrew the Classic refill, insert the Switch It refill and replace the cap. Cross ink converters are a bespoke size and cannot be used in any fountain pen manufactured by another brand. For years I've had a Cross Selectip Rolling Ball pen (very simple looking) and I thought I had a second Selectip which I don't use but looks the same as the one I've been using.

Compatible with Caran d'Ache, Coles, Conklin, Diplomat, Faber-Castell, Graf von Faber-Castell, Hugo Boss, Kaweco, Laban, Montegrappa, Ohto, Online, Otto Hutt, Pelikan, Sheaffer (VFM only), USUS, Visconti, Waterman, Worther and Yard-o-Led.If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Luckily, every Cross pen—from the Calais Chrome ballpoint pen to the Century II Black and Gold Rollerball—opens the same way. You’d need to go to a vintage pen specialist or directly to Sheaffer for further information on historical models and parts.

Nearly all Cross manufactured products have codes that start with an 8, and nearly all Sheaffer manufactured products have codes that start with a 9. If you are having continued issues with your pen, we would advise going back to the retailer you bought it from. It appears that some Cross refills are rebranded as Sheaffer and not the other way round; as in the Sheaffer catalogs, the product codes start with an 8 and are appended SH. I checked this sub and couldn't find any posts that would help me with this issue, but I apologize if I missed something. Some brands have specific sizes and profiles to fit their pens, some take standard sizes, some brands even do refills designed for other brands.

Although we do our best to ensure our pictures and descriptions explain our products as clearly as possible, sometimes you may find that when your item arrives it's not quite as you expected, or you may have simply changed your mind. It is possible that this may be true as some companies specialize in making a product and then rebrand them for sale by other companies. Pen Heaven have come up with this easy to use refill guide to help you navigate your way through the many options available. their cross-reference chart shows that some pens can use the rollerball/fine line refills as well as the 'K' style ballpoints.
