Misuse of this product may result in scarring, burns to healthy tissue or blindness. Treatment is not always necessary, especially if the verruca is not causing you any pain. Many will disappear without any treatment at all, but this can take several years. Cryotherapy, also known as cryosurgery or cryoablation, can be delivered with various cryogens. Liquid nitrogen is the most common and effective cryogen for clinical use (temperature –196°C).

It may take two weeks or more before you notice any improvement. It can take up to three months of daily applications for warts to go completely.If medication and/or cryotherapy fails to remove your verruca, your GP may suggest minor surgery. This might involve having your verruca lasered off, scraped away (curettage) or treated with light therapy (photodynamic therapy). Your GP may also recommend some special creams that can kill the virus, stop cells from multiplying, or are usually used for skin cancer. However, despite the precision applicator, it’s all a bit fiddly to use. You have to keep the applicator in a vertical position, push and twist to release the gas, and then keep it in place for a full 40 seconds. Not easy when treating the underside of your own foot! But this may be just the thing to finally kill that stubborn wart on your hand.

If the wart is a really stubborn one, there’s enough solution here for up to 12 applications, although you should only use it a maximum of three times (two weeks apart) on one wart. Treatment near the eye may result in a puffy eyelid, especially the following morning, but the swelling settles within a few days. A scab will then form and the blister gradually dries up. How to use

Before applying the salicylic acid, rub off the dead tissue from the top of the wart, with an emery file (or similar). Here’s how you can treat verrucas and warts with Bazuka Gels.
