About this deal

This tells a story for me all the vintage Ricci tells a story of a woman who walks around a garden under the sun and comes across all sorts of florals and plants. I save this gem and layer over Ylang-Ylang, cedarwood and sandalwood essential oils and sometimes Heaven Sent for extra wood, powder, flowers and soap, on the nights I miss her the most. The pure and radiant fragrance of L'Air du Temps is encased in a bottle of flowing twists and exquisite curves. Recently I purchased a vintage EDT splash style bottle of this, and I’m so happy that the notes have held up very well. Reynis founded her eponymous brand in 2011, creating elegant, timeless pieces inspired by treasures she finds from history.

It's quite an honor to have this in my collection, the cap is the best thing ever, it's the typical case of real, raw and living history in art. This has the dankness of the oakmoss in Mitsouko and the indolic notes of Joy while still maintaining a completely clean palate. The movie predated L’air du Temps by three years, but there is definitely a porcelain-powdered, well-groomed 50s primness to Cinderella and L’air du Temps alike. It still smells dated to me and on me, but i can appreciate the beauty in the intermingling of floral notes and the musky, oakmoss base. Please note: The 30ml is the plastic bottle and the 50ml is the glass bottle as shown in the pictures.

The second fragrance, L'Air du Temps, remains the label's best selling perfume; a bottle is sold every ten seconds around the world. To Hannibal, Clarice Starling smells like hope for humanity and looking forward to what life has to offer even after horrible trauma! A classic perfume with historical significance such as this has many versions, so I felt I could not fairly review it without trying both old and new L'air du Temps.

It becomes more floral as it develops, increasingly powdery with rose, iris and clean jasmine coming to the fore.

It's far too floral for my taste, but if 80s florals or soapy scents are your jam, you might just love this!

Not my normal thing, but I could never disrespect this perfume- this is my mum's signature, and every time I smell it I am transported back to sitting in front of her dressing table trying on her lipstick and absolutely dousing myself in this. The bottle is, of course, iconic and probably set me up for years of disappointment as perfume bottles went in another direction - plain and spare and minimal. The slightly unpleasant thing with LDT is that Nina Ricci perfumes is now owned by Coty and it is made in Spain, not in France. The boy is long gone and my L'air du Temps is now part of a collection that is so much wider in scope than in my youth.Named “Perfume Bottle of the Century” in 2000 in tribute to its design, the smooth curves and flowing twists of the L’Air du Temps bottle are iconic. Well, Nina Ricci attempted exactly that back in 1948, bottling up the common scents of the post-war era to celebrate ‘the mood of the times’ which is the direct translation of ‘L’air Du Temps. Is it just because I know she was a teenager/young woman when this was released and I can just imagine her popping into Boots the chemist or Woolworths for a bottle? L\'Air du Temps was created due to the great passion of the Nina Ricci\'s son Robert for fragrances and the art of the master perfumer Francis Fabron.

I was meh about it, it's not a bad smell and I can imagine someone loving Chanel no5 being in love also with this. L’air Du Temps blends into the personality of each woman to bring out her sensual charm and refinement, like a poetical breath of fresh air it portrays a serene and assertive femininity.Recently I was given a bottle of LdT by a loved one and it instantly brought back halcyon memories of my late grandmother. With a matte-white finish engraved with Alix’s iconic stars, the bottle and dove stopper evoke a luminous porcelain-smooth effect.
