About this deal

At the time of writing, the larger 75 and 85-inch models were not in the pipeline for the UK market but watch this space! Size / Model (UK) The TCL 43P735K supports HDR technology, which stands for High Dynamic Range. HDR is a technology that enhances the brightness and color range of a TV’s picture, making it more vivid and lifelike. This TV supports HDR10 and HLG formats, the most widely used HDR formats in the industry. With HDR technology, users can enjoy movies, TV shows, and other content in stunning detail and color. OLED Technology For this price, you can’t hope for stellar picture quality, though the TCL RP620K fights hard to give you a performance that more than holds up against its budget TV rivals. One standout feature of the TCL 43P735K is its compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant. This means that users can control the TV using voice commands and can also use it as a hub for their smart home devices. However, the TV has no advanced gaming features such as VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) or ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode). This means it is not the best option for those wanting the best gaming experience. Picture Settings Calibration adjusts the TV’s picture and sound settings for the best performance. The TCL 43P735K can be calibrated using various tools, such as a colorimeter and a sound meter. Calibration can be done manually or using automated software. The TV also has a built-in calibration tool that allows users to adjust the picture and sound settings to their liking. Software Updates Plenty of the biggest streaming apps come pre-installed, and there are plenty more available to install, including all of the major ones. The biggest headache for UK viewers will be that the versions of the ITVX and All4 apps don’t support live TV streaming as it stands, only catch-up content, so to watch either live you’ll need either traditional TV access or to stream the content to the TV from a laptop. Fortunately the BBC iPlayer app doesn’t suffer the same restriction. The TCL 43P735K features an ambient mode, allowing users to display content on the TV even when it is not used for watching TV. This feature can display images or artwork that blend with the surrounding environment, making it a great addition to any room. Users can also use ambient mode to display helpful information such as weather, news, or their daily calendar. One Connect Box Offering a notably different feature set to the formidable C Series Mini LEDs, these 4K HDR models still have plenty to offer, including a large selection of screen sizes along with a price tag that might be smaller than your latest energy bill. The P735 sits at the top of this sub-section, with the same switch to Android TV for UK users as with the C635 before and the P638 to follow.

A great budget TV for your home cinema

Thanks to state of the art Quantum Dot technology, this TCL TV delivers genuine cinematic colour made from over a billion colours and shades. All of the colours that cinema cameras can capture. They make it possible to deliver a level of colour reproduction, detail and depth which are unrivalled by any other LED or OLED TV. The TCL 43P735K does not feature QLED technology. QLED stands for Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode and is a technology used in some high-end TVs. QLED TVs use quantum dots to enhance color accuracy and brightness. They also offer better viewing angles than traditional LED TVs. However, they are also more expensive than LED TVs. Ambient Mode

Despite this great advantage, don’t suddenly expect the TCL RP620K TVs to compete with its high-cost competition. The LCD display used by these televisions isn’t quite bright enough to truly get the most out of Dolby Vision compared to a more premium screen.

DISCOVER

TCL might not quite carry the same household name as the likes of Samsung, LG, Panasonic, or Sony in western markets, but the Chinese company remains the number two TV manufacturer in the world when it comes to market share – and is continuing to expand into Europe and the US as it aspires to that number one spot. This year’s line-up looks to build nicely upon what’s gone before it, offering a wealth of potentially good-looking upgrades across the board. The TCL 43P735K does not support 8K resolution, meaning users cannot enjoy the highest available content. However, 8K content needs to be more widely known, and it may be some time before it becomes mainstream. HDR Technology The TCL 43P735K has a range of sound settings that allow users to adjust the sound to their liking. It has various preset sound modes such as music, movie, and sports, and users can also change settings such as bass, treble, and balance to their preferences. The TV also has a built-in equalizer, which allows users to adjust the sound to their liking. Network Settings Below is a list of all of the core UHD models added to TCL’s line-up this year, along with some of the key specifications that set each one apart from its siblings. As with all other manufacturers, there’s a natural trade-off between pricing and the quality of the features list, so you might want to consider both your budget and what you’ll mostly be using the TV for (along with your broader set-up and surroundings) to help fine-tune the right choice. Cinema audio experience at home ONKYO speakers, specially designed for sound clarity and precision allow a more realistic Dolby Atmos sound experience at home. Crystal-clear quality: Whether it's intimate dialog or a complex soundscape, every detail comes alive in rich clarity and depth, so you won't miss a thing. Feel more: Turn up the volume on your emotions with audio so rich and pure, you'll feel a stronger connection to the characters and music.

The RC630K delivers in most other aspects, though. Full HD films pop in a new, crisper light. Nintendo Switch games like MarioKart and Super Smash Bros Ultimate performed without a hitch. That’s largely down to TCL’s built-in Game Master technology, which processes bright colours more accurately, reduces lag between controller and TV, and smooths out blur. It’s really hard to poke holes in the TCL Roku TV RC630K, given the price. Sure, there are a few things we’d like from the set, but, quite simply, you can’t argue with the cost. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits) It is also the last of the models to share the same Google Smart TV platform in the UK as it does with its European counterparts, along with support for Apple HomeKit, Matter and Miracast (plus the more common TCL Home, Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Google Assistant/Alexa companions. The smaller 43 and 50-inch models, along with the super-sized 85 and 98-inch are not yet prepped for the UK market but that could well change a little later down the line. But even if your size options are limited by your home region, the C735 still has the capacity to offer great value for money. Size / Model (UK)The TCL 43P735K is compatible with a range of devices and services. It supports Google Assistant and Alexa, which means that users can control the TV using voice commands and can also use it as a hub for their smart home devices. The TV is also compatible with Apple devices, allowing users to use AirPlay to stream content from their iPhones or iPads to the TV. The TCL 43P735K does not feature MicroLED technology. MicroLEDs are a newer display technology that uses very small LEDs to create images. They offer several benefits over the traditional LED and OLED displays, such as higher brightness, better contrast, and lower power consumption. However, they are also costly and have yet to be widely available. QLED Technology As you can guess, the first two digits relate to the screen size, with the P reflecting the LCD product line (you’ll note it changes to C for the QLED and Mini LED models). Rather than using a letter to reflect the yearly updates like many of its competitors, TCL increases the Series number, so last year’s P62 and C82 ranges, for example, become P63 and C83 in 2022. This is the followed with a further digit cementing each model’s place in the Series (the P638 ranked above the P635 and RP630), and the last letter denoting the region (with K being the UK).Roku has gone with the ‘if it isn’t broke’ approach to navigation. There’s barely any difference between the RC630K’s interface and that of a standard Roku dongle. Which is far from a bad thing. Skipping between the myriad of channels and apps is a doddle, and can be done either using the remote control or Roku’s smartphone companion app.
