About this deal

I followed the author's instructions on best practices for reading and found it an effective process. I was worried that this process would be rather too repetitive and boring, but it wasn't bad at all in the end, and productive besides.

I loved how many different genres we're given in this collection, it made it really fun to read so many different types of adventures. Honestly, I’m not sure if I just lack basic reading comprehension, but this passage confused me immensely. The helpful summaries and highlighting of possibly difficult vocabulary, as well as giving a translation of that word (or phrase) in the current context, is a really good idea! Our 30-Day Mastery series helps you master the trickiest, thorniest aspects of Spanish in just 30 days, using our innovative, story-based immersion method. Mapped to B1-B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for languages, these eight captivating stories will both entertain you and give you a feeling of progress when reading.

Badalona is just outside Barcelona, and anyone who has the money for a hotel can just get a bus or metro back to Barcelona at 5pm! Si los lectores intermediales pueden pasar disfrutando de la cubierta aterciopelada para leer realmente las historias en voz alta, experimentarán alguna práctica española, pero sobre todo simplemente diversión. Yes they are easy to understand and practise your Spanish but god I found the stories hard to get through simply because for me they were awful and a little ridiculous in places. I definitely felt a sense of accomplishment when I finished each chapter and got the questions right!

Accessible grammar so you learn new structures naturally, in a stress-free way Carefully curated to make learning a new language easy, these stories include key features that will support and consolidate your progress, including A glossary for bolded words in each text A bilingual word list Full plot summary Comprehension questions after each chapter. Regular plot summaries, comprehension questions and word reference lists, so that help is always on hand when you need it. Short Stories in Spanish for Intermediate Learners has been written especially for students from a low-intermediate to intermediate level, designed to give a sense of achievement, and most importantly – enjoyment! I was on the verge of writing this review in Spanish, but then I realized how nonsensical that would be, lmao.Esto me tomó bastante tiempo (medio año 😅), no porque fuera difícil o algo así, pero porque no quería apresurarme. That said, the author makes sure to introduce plenty of practice with verb conjugations and moods and useful adverbs and phrases as well as new vocabulary. I won't be assigning a rating to this book because, truth be told, I stumbled upon it a while ago and ended up shelving it, eventually forgetting about it. Also at the end of each chapter there is a summary to see if you understood the overall idea of the chapter (the main idea of this chapter of the story 💡). I’d like to recommend a recently published book series that’s designed for learners, which I found out about while browsing the foreign language section in Waterstone’s.

An unmissable collection of eight unconventional and captivating short stories for young adult and adult intermediate learners of Spanish. I also think that giving a paragraph summary at the end of each chapter, a new vocab list and a round of questions to answer helped to cement that feeling of comprehension. When the old brother falls asleep on the bus and ends up at the end of the bus line he's in a town that is an hour away from downtown Barcelona, but instead of figuring out how to get back, he decides to stay in a hotel for the night and doesn't figure out how to get in touch with his sister. It is a great book to learn Spanish language, it contains several stories each story divided in 3 chapters to make it easy to understand it.

Now I just have to work out how to balance my language learning/practice time between maintaining my Welsh and actually getting somewhere with the Spanish.
