Root canals. American Dental Association. http://www.mouthhealthy.org/en/az-topics/r/root-canals. Accessed March 4, 2017. Wonderfully witty and wild. It’s also heady and daring in how the story explores friend and family dynamics, the anger women aren’t allowed to express within our culture, and the wounds that transform us against our will. The next full moon I see, I’ll be rooting for Rory.”–Paul Tremblay, author of The Cabin at the End of the World and The Pallbearers Club A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that covers and protects your tooth. It’ll look just like your natural teeth. First, your dentist may file or grind the sharp edge before covering the remaining tooth with a crown. 4. Dental Veneers Wright JT, et al. Evidence-based clinical practice guideline for the use of pit-and-fissure sealants. Journal of the American Dental Association. 2016;147:672. In an effort to re-acclimate herself, she heads to a local bar, as you do. Seriously, that would be my first stop. There are faces there she hasn't seen in years. Some look real good, like the bartender and one time almost-flame, Ian.

With Rory, our protagonist, Harrison gives us a survivor. Rory is angry because of what she’s suffered in the past and now must suffer in the future. And Harrison shows us it’s okay to be mad, that we should be mad when awful things happen to us. Nutrition: What you eat affects your teeth. American Dental Association. http://www.mouthhealthy.org/en/nutrition/food-tips. Accessed March 4, 2017.I also really loved how the author handled both sisters’ transitions. While I’ve certainly never been bitten by a werewolf, and have yet to become pregnant, I can’t relate to their exact situations. But I can relate to how they process things. Seeing things through their experiences was so refreshing. Being a female and bleeding every single month is difficult and there’s no way around it. From a very young age, we learn how to cope and that superpower is reflected here wonderfully. Visit your dentist regularly. Get professional teeth cleanings and regular oral exams, which can help prevent problems or spot them early. Your dentist can recommend a schedule that's best for you.

No one is writing horror that explores the intricacies of femininity like Rachel Harrison. This brilliant story is about accepting your identity, your past, love, friendship, and family... all wrapped up in a deeply satisfying and scary monster tale. Such Sharp Teeth is as irresistible as the pull of the full moon—I couldn't tear myself away." No, I did not read all of that cutesy bullshit only for the big moment to be Rory seeking acceptance from A MAN, did I????? Barf, again! And then this villain character shows up kinda late in the story, and the twist with them was telegraphed so obnoxiously, it wasn't hard to see it from a mile away. Brush with fluoride toothpaste after eating or drinking. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and ideally after every meal, using fluoride-containing toothpaste. To clean between your teeth, floss or use an interdental cleaner. I really enjoyed how each of the characters develop in this story, and how those changes cause the characters to interact with each other. It's challenging to discuss this without giving anything away! But the ways Harrison winds in mental health issues is clever, and I always like stories that discuss these issues with nuance.

Causes

Now, strange things are happening. Rory is starting to become much stronger than she was before. Her blood looks silver and she is constantly craving meat. She is changing into something new, a monster with uncontrollable urges. In conflict with her unnerving situation, Rory is trying to prepare her home for a baby and start a new relationship.

Rinse your mouth. If your dentist feels you have a high risk of developing cavities, he or she may recommend that you use a mouth rinse with fluoride. A dental veneer is another option for a broken or chipped front tooth. A veneer is a thin shell of tooth-colored material that covers the tooth’s front surface. I love this paranormal self growth- body shape positivity approach ( learning to love yourself even though you have silver blood, grey fur, sharp teeth and nails, red eyes) - romance story! Then there is Rory and her mother who share a more messy and turbulent relationship. There’s a lot of darkness shared between the two, a lot of hurt that has never been openly and more importantly truthfully discussed. Through Rory Harrison explores trauma in a very truthful manner. Society will tell you that you’re either defined by trauma and it makes you the person you are today, a survivor, or you’re left broken by it and that’s somehow your fault. What of other people’s responsibility? What about those who should have kept you safe because you were too young? These are the issues Rory has had to deal with alone for many years. As much as this is a book about monsters, the literal and metaphorical kind, it’s also one about forgiveness and moving on—not necessarily just forgiving others but forgiving yourself too. I love the way Harrison juxtaposes Rory’s transformation into a werewolf and the pain her body experiences with the experience of childbirth and even the changes experienced with menopause. Women are forever going through challenges and each one causes us to evolve and that’s not easy by far but at the end of it we can learn to be comfortable with who we are, to embrace our inner strength.

Advance Praise

Rating 8: An enjoyable werewolf story that takes on feminine rage, “Such Sharp Teeth” is another great horror novel from Rachel Harrison! This isn't your typical werewolf story. It's far more focused on transformation than it is on carnage. If you've going for heavy horror, you won't find many of those tropes here. If you like good weird fiction, feminist monster horror, you will like this. This wonderful book makes violence look simultaneously like the best choice and the very wrong one. I loved the wit, humor and banter in this book. This was such a fun read and so entertaining. Plus, many will enjoy this. Imo, this is not scary at all. A little horrific, but nothing over the top. I found it to be tame. It's funny and sweet while being fierce and thrilling. Sure, there is some blood but come on, it’s a werewolf book! Such Sharp Teeth is a fun book. I love horror novels grounded in the real world that incorporate a hint of the supernatural. It makes the characters and their issues relatable while the normalcy highlights the horrific. This is where Rachel Harrison shines. She has a unique and refreshing voice as a horror writer. Despite some criticisms I’ve seen about her books not being heavy on horror, I appreciate that she stays true to herself regardless of genre conventions — even if some of her stories venture out of horror and more into the lighthearted and quirky. My last complaint here is that, when I Google what genre this book is, this is what comes up: horror fiction, thriller, supernatural fiction. Lies!! All lies!! This book should be filed in the romance section. There is a little bit of body horror here, but not even close to enough for a horror tag to be pinned to the top. Nobody dies in this book, and we all live happily ever after. No thanks to that!
