Gloomspite domains run deeper than any mortal can imagine and their presence is in every hidden corner. Skagrott, self-proclaimed king of the Grots, managed to conquer the land of Ayadah in Chamon, the Realm of Metal, attracting the blessing of the Bad Moon that permanently bathe with its gloomy light those lands.

The Bad Moon Loonshrine

There is a kind of war of silence or hunger for stillness between millennial models and gen x models. When you see them together, they are living in very-slightly different aesthetics of time and sensation. Rules are included for five different subfactions of Gitz.Da King’s Gitz are the most numerous of all the troglodyte hordes, and can re-roll the dice when trying to return destroyed units to the table using the Loonshrine’s Moonclan Lairs ability. The Badsnatchers are sneaky and magical, and get better at spell casting when they gang up close to each other.

Heroic Willpower: one non-Wizard hero can attempt to dispel or unbind a spell for that phase like he was a wizard. Roll 2 dice instead of 1 when making a brewing roll for this shroom. This works because it fits the mindset of the Grots, it probably wouldn't work the same way for a more 'serious' race.

Many lords maintain stables of proud and noble pegasi, while others boast of fearsome draconith steeds, or claim to have mastered even stranger heraldic beasts. These all make fine mounts for the Morbheg Knights, their charges accompanied by a joyous, ringing laughter that stupefies the gutless and craven.

I have the nagging feeling, common with modern GW rulsets that I am missing something in an unbought book, or generals handbook somewhere, that everyone else knows about.With each Warhammer Age of Sigmar battletome release there is a lot to talk about and the Gloomspite Gitz are a bumper crop given the large number of new units being released and the size of the battletome.

Loonshrines can Garrison up to 30 grots. This is a really nice change, as it makes the horde army style of Gloomspites benefit from their terrain. Of course, this is a little hurt by faction terrain changes in general, but it is nice. Spiderfang were one of the micro-factions of Warhammer Age of Sigmar with only 4 units. They have now been fleshed out into a fully fledged force with the full benefits of a modern battletome.

Who are the Gloomspite Gitz?

As with all recent Warhammer Age of Sigmar battletomes, Games Workshop aims to have a variety of available army builds within the same faction. GW haven't taken any giant leaps conceptually but they do deserve recognition for brining those elements to the best possible quality and using them in the best possible way given the pre-existing format Finally there’s Chasing the Moon which requires your general to survive the battle, potentially much easier than it used to be if they’re a Galetian Champion, and to have been affected by the Light of the Bad Moon in 3 battle rounds.
