About this deal

Billund, April 5th, 2023: The LEGO Group today announced the new Star WarsTM Ultimate Collector Series X-wing StarfighterTM building set. Based on the iconic T-65 X-wing Starfighter from the Star Wars saga, the new 1,949 piece LEGO Star Wars set is highly detailed and includes the Incom 4L4 fusil thrust engines and the Taim & Bak KX9 laser cannons. At over 55cm / 21.5” long, the new LEGO Star Wars X-wing Starfighter set is the perfect addition to the Ultimate Collector Series, joining the AT-ATTM, Millennium FalconTM, RazorcrestTM and Luke Skywalker’s LandspeederTM building sets. Once complete, fans can display the X-wing model with either the wings open or closed. Plus, it comes complete with Luke Skywalker and R2-D2TM astromech droid minifigures, and a display plaque with technical details about the X-wing. The X-wing Starfighter was designed by the Incom Corporation for use by the Rebel Alliance in long missions and dog fights. First seen in Star Wars: A New Hope, the X-wings were manned by elite pilots in the Rebel Alliance – including Luke Skywalker. In the same film, the Rebel Alliance deployed the X-wings in the Battle of Yavin, where Luke joins the Red and Gold Squadrons as call-sign Red Five, alongside Biggs and Porkins, in an attempt to destroy the Empire’s Death Star. The set includes stands for the striped tiles that can be used to customize the fighter to be either Wedge's Red 2 or Luke's Red 5. Accessory elements include a hot dog, fire hose, water elements and a new for January 2019 fire axe, plus 2 buildable flames.

LEGO® 4+ play sets were previously known as LEGO Juniors and are compatible with all LEGO construction sets for creative building. Even though this set was created in 2006, it wasn't discontinued until late 2011, before the release of its successor and replacement, the 9493 X-wing. This makes it by far the longest-running LEGO Star Wars set with a record of five years. Before its discontinuation, it was still available at a small number of Toys R' Us stores. In one of cinema’s most iconic scenes, the battle ends with a tense moment between Luke and Darth Vader in the Death Star trench – where Luke has one chance to fire his seemingly impossible shot into the exhaust port that is “not much bigger than 2 metres”, and destroy the Empire’s ultimate weapon.

Set Filecard

Oddly, this set depicts Wedge's X-wing as being Red 3 instead of Red 2 (due to the number of red tiles the builder is instructed to put on the wings of the fighter). The instruction manual also incorrectly calls Wedge's fighter Red 3 instead of Red 2. Red 3 is actually Biggs Darklighter in the Star Wars universe. Features parts to customize your starfighter as either Luke Skywalker’s Red Five or Wedge’s Red Two X-wing! As Christmas trees are a popular place for toys to be found, Ask Toy Tech offers a brief history and pictures of the Christmas ornament tradition.

LEGO® 4+ sets are specially made to be fun and easy for youngsters and help to grow their confidence with simple building steps for a great start to LEGO building. Some of the sets have the newer versions of Han Solo and Luke's faces rather than the older ones. You can tell by the pupils.
