About this deal

Yasmin having to marry Julian because it’s her father’s dying wish to see her married?? So intriguing!! Because it feels like she’s choosing me. And she’s the only one who ever has." Twisted, Emily McIntire The 4th installment of this stand alone series follows Yasim and Julian and let me say this…..Julian is my Italian king i love that man so damn much. Inspired by Aladdin like always with this series I just adored all the Easter eggs. This book also has some of my favorite tropes with the age gap, enemies to lovers, arranged marriage and I just ATE IT UP! I think after the halfway point this book really takes off and it has one of the best spicy scenes in the series. I mean the coffee table?!?! 🥵 EMILY NEVER MISSES and this is a MUST for my dark romance peeps.

I point to the en suite. “Shower.” To the closet on the right. “Clothes.” To the mattress. “Bed.” Her gaze follows, and she chews on her lip, nodding. I point to her now. “Stay.” “Woof,” she barks.” ATE AND LEFT NO CRUMBS STOP IT! Emily?!?!?! This series remains my top dog for dark romance and it’s just my all time fav what can I say? Emily speaks to my soul with these books, I’m simply obsessed 💙 In 2020 Emily McIntire would write and publish her first novel, and she would fast become a hit with readers from around the world. This debut book would be a romance titled ‘Beneath the Stars’ and it would also be the first in the ‘Sugarlake’ series of romantic novels. There would be four novels in this series, with the third and fourth being released the following year in 2021.As always, Emily does a fantastic job of weaving in the original tales in such a creative way and gives us adult topics from our much beloved childhood stories/movies. The family dynamics were the most interesting and real part of the story. Whether it is love, guilt, or obligation, toxic and abusive family members aren’t always easy to cut off or distance yourself from. Julian’s strained relationship with his mother displayed that well, and Yasmin’s devotion to her father lightly touched on it.

While I appreciated that Julian was a villain in every sense of the word, I wish the main characters (cough cough Yasmin) could do shitty things without them being justified because they were betrayed. The villain can still get the girl while the (original) hero is still good guy of the story! It would be an interesting concept that the series has yet to explore. Any issues with the book list you are seeing? Or is there an author or series we don’t have? Let me know! From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of Aladdin.

The sex scenes are yummy yummy! After the tease and longing when they finally were with each other- gosh it was everything! I need a Daddy Julian in my life pretty pls!🤧 I would do anything for you. Burn this life down to the ground and build a whole new world if you demand it." A WHOLE NEW WORLD, you say?! 😉🧞‍♂️✨💍🙈

God, I absolutely hate snakes, I can't stand them! I don't like to see them or read about them and God forbid if I once again encounter one- but I can make an exception for our Isabella here 🙈 I love capturing memories. Emotion that’s usually fleeting being frozen forever in time. The wisdom in the gaze of a person who’s lived a full life. The look in someone’s eyes when they realize they’re in love. The joy in their face when they’re laughing at a joke. Photographs help us remember things we’d otherwise forget.”

I initially gave this 4 stars because, overall, I had fun with it; but the more I let it sit, the more I thought I've waited so long to read this and yet was a little disappointed because I could hardly see any difference between this book's dark romance and the previous Never After ones. Amaya Paquette is Festivalé’s beautiful mystery. She spends her days caring for her younger brother and her nights transforming into Esmeralda, dancing for greedy eyes and shameless lips. Although she longs for love, she shies away from companionship, afraid of being abandoned again.

Although I have to be honest, the age gap kind of put me off at the beginning of the book but I got used to it over time and the rest was obviously everything!! We have a variety of reading challenges, monthly book recommendations, buddy reads, book-and non-book-related discussions, author interviews/giveaways and plenty of fun and games to keep you entertain while hanging out with a bunch of people that love to read and talk about books. Yasmin is a brat who speaks out of turn, and he's the villain of her story. But he decides she'll be his-no matter what it takes to convince her. and it is obvious that Ms Mcintire was relying on the animated movie for inspiration considering the character names Just remember that whenever things feel bleak, all situations are temporary. It’s not your circumstance that determines your worth, it’s how you rise from the ashes after everything burns.”

I love the way Yasmin snaps in the end, I wasn't expecting it- but after everything she went through it's understandable.
